ingrown oubic hairs, or something worse?

I am a swinger... and as such realize the risks associated with my lifestyle.  I always have protected sex (condoms) but regularly engage in oral and hand stimulation from various people with out dental dams or gloves or anything.

Of the people I have been intimate with I am still in touch with all of them and to my knowledge none of them have any kind of affliction.

My husband doesn't have any kind of issue either (he is the only person I have unprotected sex with).  He is also sexually active with multiple partners, and also wears a condom with everyone else.

A picture of the affected area can be seen at http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/0406173947f59dd42ce0b.JPG

OK Saturday might be pushing it, but it depends on how long you've had symptoms.  If they are new as of today, then you should be fine.  If you've already had them a few days, then it might be too late to get an accurate culture, but I would sure try anyway.

I know its frustrating when you have symptoms and can't be seen any sooner, though.

If the doc thinks it is herpes, and does a culture, INSIST that they type it.  It will make a big difference when you are talking to partners about it if you know what type it is.  The transmission rates are different for genital herpes type 1 and 2.

Well, I don't look at pics not because they are graphic, but because I can't diagnose you over the internet (or at all, I'm not a doc), and even docs can't diagnose you over the internet.

If you shave the area, ingrown hairs are certainly possible.

When is your appt?  If you think it might be herpes, then you'd want to get in sooner rather than later because herpes testing is very time sensitive.

The photo does not show anything too particularly graphic... I've already made a Dr appointment... just trying to get some further info from anyone that knows.

I've never seen, nor been afflicted with any kind of STD so I don't really know what to look for.

I don't look at pics, but I can tell you that if you have any symptoms at all, you should get checked.
