Guys,

The good news is your life is not in danger, and your going to live; be greatful for that.
Just don't stray, or if you have anxiety problems don't go around getting unprotected blow jobs.  I know the feeling is great, but please please protect yourselfs.  Anxeity, and if you do catch something (though your at low risk for blowjobs) its just not worth it, JUST NOT WORTH IT.

I'm in the same boat as you man, I received oral sex from an old girlfriend from high school. This was like two to three days ago. I've been freaking out of my mind mostly because I felt like **** for cheating on my current girlfriend. Every little sensation, every thought of the possibility of having gotten an STD I'd have to explain to her made me think I had an STD and made me physically sick to my stomach. I actually had a panic attack about this. I went to the er the night of the encounter to get tested and they basically laughed me out of the room. I made an appointment to see my personal doctor for tomorrow.

My father, my mother, my fraternity brothers and my friends have all told me that the risk is slim to none. I have yet to show any symptoms nor do I think I ever will. Needless to say I won't stray again. This has been the most nerve racking three days of my life.

Syphilis is 40X less likely to get than chalmydia, and YOU have a negative test for Chalmydia and gonorrhea.  Don't worry about syphilis.

So the timing and days for symptoms are not well established.  To be safe we speak in magnitude of months to say your safe or if things are looking good.

But I don't mean to scare you or anything, just to let you know how wierd this little virus is (herpes virus).  I have oral herpes (HSV-1) and the symptoms of gential herpes are similiar (so you know I am HSV-2 negative, just had to get that out there).  Usally I know when I am about to have an outbreak on my lips, it starts like a little bump on my lip (looks like pimple) and then its obvious and arising within 1 or 2 days i get the full on blistering and lumps forming in bundles just like what you read online about herpes.   So it has a progression of steps, fever, or stress then bumps, and then the full on outbreak.

But one day, just out of the blue --no stress or anything they appeared full on--blisters and full outbreak, they must have formed in a matter of hours.  So it quite unpredictable.

If its gential herpes your concerned about, (a complex virus)  I mean I would say if by the next week you don't see anything, then there's a good good sign, it will have been a month, and usally the bumps start within 2 weeks then form into the blisters.  There's  good chance you don't have anything.  21 days its pretty much good news too and looking go so far.  Plus you had a low encounter so that's another good thing.

thanks to all....but just for myself....should I have seen symptoms already?

and if at 21 days and no symptoms...for all practicality I should be fine...

Hey as "daily" said, you probably won't see symptoms because you probably didn't catch anything (herpes and syphilis), a one time encounter for recieveing fallatio is almost almost close to no risk for STDs (but we can't quite say zero risk).

If i were in your shoes, I would move on with my life and begin to use protection even for oral sex, your anxiety and stree/ worry just goes down when you stay protected all the way.

hsv doesn't always show symptoms, something like half of hsv + people either never have symptoms or don't notice them because they are minor.

no and trust me for either HSV or Syphilis you will experience symptoms. HSV can sometimes go unnoticed. If your concerned then just get tested again oral is a LOW risk and even LOWER for HSV and Syphlis

Oral is a low risk for gono (which you've tested negative for) and a even lower risk for HSV and syphilis. you can test for HSV 4 months post exposure and syphilis 6-8 weeks post.
