I think I have an STD

I have had searing pain around my clitoris for a week now.  I went to the doctor's office to get it checked out.  He looked at it and prescribed an anti-fungal med to be mixed with hydrocortisone.  I frequently get yeast infections, some treacherous ones.
I also have psoriasis and have had some patches within the pubic region.

Infections are common for me, but this one's different and I suspect an STD.
Not to sound crass (this is the reality of it), but my boyfriend accidentally scratched my clitoris with his nail while giving me oral sex.  I didn't have time to have a shower before work, so I essentially sat in the filth of it all day.  It was sore then and the next day when I went rock climbing.  It was super hot out and I was sweating all day long, took a fall and the harness drove up and hit my clitoris again.  So it was bruised and sore.  The NEXT day, it was itchy. And the next day it was infected, with sores under the clitoral hood.
Now (day 7ish), it hurts to pee (urine hitting the sores is excruciating), I can barely move without getting shooting pain, and pus has formed and hardened.  The surrounding area is very sensitive, but there's no itchy vaginal infection (maybe a small amount of white discharge).
My pubic hair is growing back from a recent wax job, and I get ingrowns all the time, but I'm worried about some surrounding bumps.  They appeared today.  They're located amongst the pubic hair only, but coupled with this intense infection is terrifying.
My boyfriend gets cold sores, but didn't have any while giving me oral sex.  I know it can spread with or without the sores, but I want to know if my symptoms sound anything like a fungal infection (hopefully), or if it's a flashing light for herpes.
HELP!  I'm scared.

odds are this isn't hsv1 genitally going on.

at this point, continue to be seen everytime you have symptoms to try to get to the bottom of things - it's a pain I know but it's the best you can do.

yes, thyroid issues can cause skin issues too.

Eh.  I guess it's a dead end at this point.
I told him, he got tested, and the results (this time) were negative for everything (even hsv1, which he knows he has).  I saw the paperwork myself.
Nothing showed up in my bloodwork, and then the confusing pap smear results...
and a "mixed up"/abnormal swab could be a herpes related... I wish i asked more questions!
It's just that the blisters were clustered, like a blackberry.  Single blisters too, but when I saw the clustered ones... that hsv doom set in.  And I've never had blistering (pustular) psoriasis, just flat plaques.  I have thyroid disease too- can hormonal imbalances cause blistering infections?  Whatever.  Thanks so much for following up!  The waiting game is rough.

both of you getting tested will tell you who has what so you can decide whether you'll need additional testing later on or not.

The results came back.  My doctor said that I tested negative for STDs which he "knew I didn't have," but that something got "mixed up" with the second swab.  He wanted me to come in for another if I was still having problems, which I'm not.  I just have the scarring from the blisters.
I'm very confused and still think it's herpes- because I really don't see it being anything else.  I've never been in more pain and I've never had blisters there.  I don't even know what he was testing for, but he didn't have the herpes swabs.
I guess all I can do is wait and see if it happens again, and get a blood test in a few months?
I don't know what else it could be.

at this point you should both seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see who has what and go from there.

have any of your other test results come back yet?

ok, grace. LAST QUESTIONS, I swear.

1 week on Valtrex, and the sores are still there, but everything is much more comfortable.
I'm sticking to the likelihood that it is, yes, herpes.  day 21, still sick.

My question has to do with transmission now. My boyfriend is who I think gave it to me, through unprotected oral sex (he gets one cold sore every December, so he was asymptomatic in June).  I obviously didn't do my research about it, and we've had unprotected oral many, many times without a problem; but this last time was obviously different.
The relationship came to a halt a few months ago, and I ended up having unprotected oral and vaginal sex with a dear friend.  This was about 2 or 3 months ago.  He said he was STD-free and I believed him.  During oral sex, I was really grossed out when a flake of skin came off in my mouth. I have psoriasis. I assumed it was dry skin and carried on.  No bumps.  Didn't think it could be from a lesion, but I do recall a MILD (yeast?) infection post-unprotected sex.

SORRY FOR THE DETAILS, but this is how it happens, right?  Do I have to ask the friend to get tested for herpes?  If I have symptoms of fever, backache, sores, etc immediately after receiving unprotected oral sex from my again boyfriend a few weeks ago, does that guarantee that I caught it from him, or could initial outbreaks creep in months after exposure?  Could I have a mild and then severe herpes outbreak?

psoriasis can look pretty awful.  at this point give things a week and if they aren't starting to look markedly  better, follow up with a dermatologist.

went to the doctor's to be tested.
he didn't have the herpes swabs, but used two other types.  :S
he put me on valtrex, but no improvements yet (i'll be patient).
do you know much about psoriasis?  the doctor said, in his opinion, it was hard to tell if it's herpes.  i think i'll go to an std-specific clinic soon because i think it is, but, for curiosity's sake, do you know if pustular psoriasis on this genitals looks anything like herpes?  i haven't found much info on it.
answer if willing.  thanks!

yes, a lesion culture is the best thing at this point. be seen again tomorrow for further evaluation.

Day 11: same state with a cold, swollen lymph nodes in throat and groin.  I think it's herpes.  Bumps in pubic region might be ingrowns, but they're itchy. Inner, clitoral region lumpy/ open sores.  Still hard to walk.  If the doc swaps pus (with newly infected herpes) it'll come back positive, right? I won't have to wait a few months for the virus to settle?

you can have bumps with vaginitis. pus in them isn't due to yeast though.

Yes, we were both tested.  I was negative for all. He had his cold sore, hsv1 positive.
I won't be going in for testing now, as it takes 3ish months to confirm. I just want to know if bumps (mine are on either side of the lower labia majora) are common with yeast infections.  And if the presence of pus (yellowish-brown) is unusual.

if you doubt your providers diagnosis, by all means be seen again elsewhere today and make sure you ask for herpes lesion cultures to be done.

did you and your partner get full std testing prior to starting to being intimate? do you know if herpes testing was included with either of your testing if you did ( it's typically not a part of routine std testing )?
