Can having gonnorea for 4 months make you infertile?

Hello,

I had a one night stand in December last year (an old friend and a drunken mistake) he advised me in late March that he has tested positive for gonorrhea. I went to my local GP and had a swab done for chlamydia and gonorrhea and it came back negative but because my cervix is so red they have sent me back for another test at a GUM Clinic to see if I have it for definite or not.

My concern is that it has been 4 months now; can or would this to cause me to be infertile? I never had any symptoms and everything I read points to "gonnorea left untreated can cause pid and cause women to be infertile " is this really the case or I am I panicking for nothing?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, if this was chlamydia i can see a female not having any symptoms but with Gono its a different story as its a nasty and in all likely hood you would have had symptoms some type of genital or bladder type irritation. But dont be overly worried as if you did have it, it would have cured itself with the bodies natural process by 4 months. Before the advent of antibiotics it cured itself. Its not like syphilis which maynot naturally cure.
