herpes question

doc,

I have read that performing in mutual masturbation is a low risk activity. Im asking you because I need to hear it from a doctor about my situation. I received and performed mutual masturbation with another male THATS ALL no sex or body touching. He looked clean and I did not see any sores on his penis. So my question is if i was to touch his penis then mine, or he touch mine then his then mine again could I have possibly got hsv2 or herpes from this act. I have been tested b4 and all my tests have been neg. Do i need to wait that 3 months and get tested again for hsv2 from this encounter? I know I sound a little crazy and my ocd is getting to me. but I have a partner and would be very upset if I was to pass something on to him with out me knowing!

so could this action put me a risk#1 #2 do I need to get tested #3 what is the likely-hood of this happening.
Thank you very very much!

Obviously this is one of those "what if" questions which is difficult to answer with absolute confidence.  At the same time, it is likely that he would be uncompforable from masturbation.  Even in the unlikely circumstance mentioned above, you would be unlikely to get HSV.  As you point out, if no lesions at 10 days, no reason for further worry.  EWH

The risk of getting HSV from mutual masturbation is extraordinarily low.  HSV is not transmitted from one person's genitals to another on a person's hand.  It does not happen.  As far as your skin getting infected is concerned, the skin of the hands is thick and an effective barrier to acquisition of HSV.  So, in answer to your questions:

1.  No
2.  No.
3.  Close to zero.

Take care.  EWH

Thank you for your quick response!

One more thing say he did have a sore, and I did not see it. It would to painful for him to masturbat correct? and IF he did and i happened to touch it while masturbating him then myself is there a chance of me getting herpes? and if no symptoms appear with in 10 days im clear correct?!

Thank you agian, this should clear up all my doubt. and will be my last post!

Your the BEST Doc!
