Constant Itch

I'll start by saying that I'm a 23 year old male, very lightly active  and 210 pounds 6'0"
For the past two years Ive had a constant itch in my groin area. It is very very painful.Sometimes I just want to chop everything of because it hurts, burns, itches so bad. It started two years ago after I had unprotected sex with a stranger(i don't know if that is related), immediately, like two hours after and it has just been constant since then. everyday it itches it stops very rarely.

It stings in the head of my penis, my scrotum burns, and it itches really bad around my thighs. Nothing is really visible but the itch is always there, no redness, no swelling, it looks normal but it isn't. I rarely scratch much, Ive learned not to because it looks bad scratching there.

I went to a free std clinic four months doctor because some pimple looking things popped up half a year ago,  it turned out that they were warts(he burned them off). I told him about about the long itch but he told me to go to a family doctor (i haven't) because "two years would turn into five years" he said.  He couldnt help me with that.
Another doctor way before that took a glance and gave me jock itch cream that did not work(clotrimazole). I don't shave down there but I do keep it very trim, I once shaved everything off because I was desperate but it remained the same.

Would does this sound like to you? What kind of doctor should I see? Do dermatologists look at the groin area? I really need help but I don't know what to do.

You could do that.  But you really don't provide enough detail for even a dermatologist to have a good idea what's going on.  Most likely the moderator would just advise you to see a dermatologist in person, so I fear you would waste the posting fee.  It's up to you.

I saw this comment before I replied.  Even if one of those tests had been positive, it would not have explained the itching.

Welcome to the STD forum.  Unfortunatley, I can't help very much.  No STD causes continuous itching -- and this forum doesn't deal with genital problems or skin problems other than STDs.  You did indeed have an STD problem, the genital warts -- but warts and HPV infection don't cause itching, so that's not the issue here.

You have exactly the right idea about next steps.  Dermatologists are experts on skin conditions anywhere on the body, including the genitals.  Also, dermatologists are always good sources for care for genital warts, so if you still have concerns or questions about it, he or she can address that problem as well.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

I forgot to mention that I tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and hiv all negative when I went to the std clinic.
