Thanks for the comments! I'm so glad you find my posts helpful. I'm interested in all aspects of sexuality (and among other things, am a sex educator) and I'm really anal about accuracy, so I do a LOT of research. And I've learned SO much from Dr. Handsfield on these forums. But I'm just another poster... just like everyone else :-)
Rudy,
When MF speaks...consider her words next only to the doc's on this forum. She knows what she is talking about at least as far as herpes is concerned. Always, wanted to do this... Hi monkeyflower....hope u doing good :-)...
Thank you everyone, I'm waiting for the results today..
I'm praying..
Definitely not herpes. Anxiety may either be the cause of your symptoms (particularly the GI symptoms), or just exacerbating normal bodily sensations. Probably both. Google anxiety symptoms for more info. So what did your doctor say about your anxiety? Did s/he prescribe anything or refer you to a therapist? And why did you see the second doctor, anyway?
I had an exposure in March whereby I developed burning hands and feetas well say from 10 ays onwards.I got a HSV-2 blood test done at the 84th day ad that cam out +ive. I still carry burning sensations in my hands n feet every now n then 6 months down the line along with tingling/prickling sensations. I did not get an over genital symptoms as such and no visible blistering.
I am writing this response only as I could relate to burning sensations in hands an feet. As such, if your sex act was protected, it will be highly improbable for you to get HSV-2 (that too from oral). The doc here knows what he is talking about. If your description of even is correct, I do not think yougot much to worry about... Do take care....
Thank you doctor.
The second doctor really freaked me out, I pray that he is wrong.
I do feel the tingling and burning but I have had this before when my ex gave me a yeast infection or when I masturbate with lotion.
I don't see any pimples or sores, of course that may not mean anything I guess.
Again thank you.
Also, if by any means my post above sounds scary, I would like to add that none of the dermatologists I went to could see any lesions on penis head and didn't even order blood test till I forced the last one to do so and he agreed seeing my mental state. But, none of them agreed that buring hands and feet could be due to herpes.
Did you get extreme dizziness/ blurred vision/headache from hunger?
Ok one more thing.
I'm experiencing severe digistive issues. I get hungry every other hours and if I don't eat my body goes into shock, I feel extreme pain, my brain feels like it's numb and it feels like I'm going into seizure.
Are these symptoms of Herpes?
I don't understand how I could off caught it..
I had a condom on at all times and the did give me a hand job with no condom.
That's probably how it happened.
I'm so worried.
Getting herpes from hand job is not a possibility. But, that is secondary as you don't know right now if u even got herpes or not. No point jumping the gun based on not too specific symptoms. However, I have been told by few dermatologists that condoms do not provide complete protection against herpes so if at all you got it, it could have been still ftom the protected intercourse you had with the lady. But, all this talk is worthless unless a dermatologist specifically tells you after examining that you have herpes lesions on your penis or a blood tests that proves you to be having herpes
i got extreme dizziness for sure. Blurred vision and headache from hunger I can not recall. I am sure u must be getting headaches from hunger because of substituting symptoms surfing with eating food at right times. That happend to me also and which caused me tummy upset along with anti-biotics that i was taking at that point of time. But,the biggest thing that bothered me was burninng hands and feet and the docs just attributed it to anxiety. Well, in that case the anxiety for me is still on going along with peripheral neuropathy....Never ever felt these sensations before in 28 yrs of my life so got real scared. But, trust me, it will be better if you follow what the doc here suggests otherwise, this is gona be a beginning of a downward spiral with no end....Take care bro....
Sorry if I mixed up which doctor said what. I was agreeing with the one who thought your symptoms were most likely related to stress/anxiety--and I was thinking about all your symptoms, the tingling, burning, etc as well as the gastrointestinal ones. I remain highly skeptical about herpes as an explantion for any of it. To my knowledge, herpes doesn't "affect the senses" in the way you describe. I suggest you not work yourself up in expectation that you have herpes, or that any sexually transmitted condition is the cause of your symptoms.

My second doctor is the one who suggested that I had herpes and I only mentoined to him about the sexual encounter and the current burning and testicle pulling. That's when he asked me if I was under stress and then he diagnosed me with herpes simplex.
Also, when you meant agreeing with my second doctor are you referring to stress causing the digestive problem?
Does herpes affect your senses, such as burning feeling of the skin on the body when it is touched by wind?
Again thank you.
I wanted to add that Im feeling like a burning sensation on my skin especially my feet and legs.
Answering your closing question first: Yes, herpes with symptoms almost always causes overt genital lesions that start as blister-like lesions that turn into sores that scab over.
Did your doc really suggest herpes as the diagnosis? I am skeptical and wonderr whether you are the one who raised it with something like "Could this be herpes?" and he might have said "Well, maybe--let's check it out because you are concerned." Anyway, your symptoms don't sound remotely like herpes to me. Should you have a positive blood test for HSV (either HSV-1 or -2), almost certainly it will reflect past infection, nothing you acquired during the event 3 weeks ago.
I agree 100% with the second doctor about the more likely cause of your symptoms.
I hope this helps. Best wishes-- HHH, MD
