Exposure to Exposing Time Period

How long after exposure to an std before you are infectious to another person.
For example: If I were exposed to an std today, could I pass it on tomorrow? the next day? the next week?
Thank You

Well, it depends.  If the partners she had sex with had other partners, there could be a risk.

He probably wouldn't get HIV, but he could easily have gonorrhea or chlamydia.

Thank you .. friends of mine were married for 34 years .. upon separation she had 4 different partners within one week, about a week or so later she had sex with her estranged husband. He is very concerned as he waits for his Dr appointment. I told him that his odds of infection were not extremely high ... wanted to reassure him. What do you think?

This depends on the std, but for safety's sake, assume that if you are infected today, you are infectious tomorrow.
