Oral Sex Risk and Concern

Hi, i am a 43 old white male and 9 days ago i received unprotected oral sex from a late 30's white female. I have been dating the same girl for 18 months now and i made a stupid mistake while getting a massage. The girl had her panties on the whole time so the fellatio is the only risk i was exposed to. The unproted oral lasted somewhere between 1 or 2 minutes. This is the only time in the past 18 months i have had any sexual contact with anyone other than my gf.

Since the event i have experienced slight tingling and aching at the tip of my penis. This occurs throughout the day. I have not seen any discharge and don't really have any pain on urination just what feels like some very minor irritaion from time to time when i urinate. The majority of the time my urination feels normal. I am thinking all my symptoms are anxiety related since i am so focused on it. I decided to get tested for bacteria STD's just for peace of mind. The test was 7 days after the exposure. I went to LabCorp and gave a urine sample. I hadn't urinated for 2 hours prior to the test and when i gave the sample i started urinating for a few seconds before i moved the collection cup into the urine stream for collection. LabCorp used Nuceleic Acid Amp test for Gonorrhea & Chlymidia and did an urinalysis for general infection. The results for the urinalysis are back and everything looks great. They didn't find any white blood cells and there wasnt any sign of infection. I am still waiting for the Gon and Chlym results. My questions are:

1: What is my risk of catching an STD with the exposure i had.

2. If all results are negative can i assume i don't have any bacteria STD's. I want to make sure i collected the sample properly since i urinated a few seconds before collection began and waited the proper number of days.

3. Am i safe to have sex with my girlfriend without needing to worry about giving her anything.

Thanks for your help and thanks for offering this great service

. Based on my exposure and negative test results described above i can confidently assume i didn't catch a STD from this exposure and i can safely resume unprotected sex with my girlfriend?

Yes.

2. Does gonorrhea aways have discharge with it? I have read on this site that 95% of men show symptoms and was wondering what percent have discharge

A small proportion of men with gonorrhea are asymptomatic.  That however does not change my assessment or advice. EWH

Sorry to bother you. This will be my final post. I have two final questions. The first question is for reassurance:

1. Based on my exposure and negative test results described above i can confidently assume i didn't catch a STD from this exposure and i can safely resume unprotected sex with my girlfriend?

2. Does gonorrhea aways have discharge with it? I have read on this site that 95% of men show symptoms and was wondering what percent have discharge

Thanks - Sorry for the inconvenience

Thank you for the reassurance. I will accept my negative result as accurate and move on. Thanks for providing this forum and access to real medical knowledge.

The recommendation is that first catch urine be used but it is doubtful that beginning to urinate would meaningfully chance your results.  Time for you to move forward and put this behind you. EWH

Thanks for the response. All my tests are now back and they are all negative. I just wanted to make sure of one thing before I put this incident behind me and move on. I have been reading that the urine sample should be first catch and I just wanted to make sure I didn't comprise the accuracy of the test by starting to urinate a few seconds before moving the collection cup into the urine stream .

Thanks for this great service.

Welcome to the Forum.  I'll be glad to comment. the risk for any STI from a single sexual exposure with a new partner is relative low- in part because most people do not have STIs, in part because most exposures to infected people do not lead to infection, and in part because of possible exposures, the risk for getting an STI from receipt of oral sex is lower than the risk of unprotected genital exposure.  In your case your did exact the right things. Getting tests was a good idea, you tested and a time when your results are completely reliable, and your results rule out the possibility of STIs.  It is now time to put your concerns about STIs aside.

As far as what is causing your discomfort, one possibility is that because of your concerns you focused more on the possibility of abnormal genital sensations and, in doing so, became aware of normal sensations that you might have otherwise overlooked. This is not unusual.

As for your specific questions:
1: What is my risk of catching an STD with the exposure i had.
See above. Very low.

2. If all results are negative can i assume i don't have any bacteria STD's. I want to make sure i collected the sample properly since i urinated a few seconds before collection began and waited the proper number of days.
You did fine and your results are to be believed. there is no need for further testing.

3. Am i safe to have sex with my girlfriend without needing to worry about giving her anything
Yes, you can be confident that this exposure did not lead to any infection that you could pass on to your GF in the course of unprotected sex.

I hope my comments are helpful. EWH
