For the record, this isnt a about risk im concerned about.

I just want to make a statement.  What i dont understand is...why do people have this bad view towards the sex industry? I.E Strippers and sex workers.Even religious groups have that view, oh also on gay rights too. That i really dont understand. But lets look at two hypothedical situations.

1.Man has unprotected sex with woman. Woman is not a sex worker or stripper, however her std status is not known.

2. Man has unprotected sex with woman.  However the woman is a sex worker. Her std status is not known as well.

So after looking at those two situations, the only differences are is that one of the women works in the sex industry while the other dosent. Whats similar is the man has put himself at RISK. Dosent matter who the women were, risk is a risk. Just because a woman is not a sex worker dosen't automactically mean, shes "Clean as a whistle"   Now lets look at another hypothedical situation.

1.Man has protected sex with a woman who is not a sex worker.

2. man has protected sex with a woman who is a sex worker.

Now, do you still see any differences aside from the fact one of the women is a sex worker?

My views are that I would never pay for sex, but people can do what they want. I think in America it should be illegal as it is in most parts of America(religious view there), but any sex should be protected. Nothing wrong with a sex worker and no reason to make them feel bad about themselves and as you have correctly stated they supply condoms because they are more worried about us then we are of them If it's with Sally from the bar in a one-nighter or it's with some hooker for a $40 lay.

I agree. But having unprotected sex with anyone is just as dangerous. Even if guys were to use condoms with sex workers, and btw sex workers supply them for a reason, doctors around the world would still oppose us going to them. But having protected sex with a regular person isnt a problem in their view. Thats unreal. I just think, what two consenting adults do in private....is their business. Vance, what are your views towards sexwork?

It does. But also look at it like this...if a sex worker has unprotected sex with you how many other people is she doing that with? And since that is her job, her risk is higher to have something then some chick at the bar.

Exactly. Vance, lets say you just had unprotected sex with someone who isnt a sex worker, but her status is not known, then u had unprotected sex with someone who is a sex worker, again status not known.  Whats really the difference in terms of risk? A regular person could have been with alot of people and do risky things.. To assume ones profession automactly means they have std's just turns the world upside down.

No, but people see sex workers as people who do have STD's because they get paid for sex so they are seen as people who will take more risks and so on. Which for the most part is probably not true.
