Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.
Your objective analysis ("left brain") is correct; this was a zero risk exposure. It's your emotional side ("right brain") that is causing the uncertainty and almost certainly your symptoms as well.
"I have read but could I have caught NGU from the masturbation with saliva..." I doubt it. I've never heard of that happening and have never had such a case in my clinic. I would have not prescribed azithromycin (Z-pak) or anything else. In other words, you correctly learned "...that oral sex is less likely way to transmit certain STDs and...the condom takes all risk out of the picture".
NGU does not cause symptoms like yours, despite what you might assume if you just read lists of symptoms. NGU primarily causes discharge, usually painless but sometimes with mild discomfort on urination. It does not cause urinary urgency, frequency, or pain or discomfort in the bladder area, groin, etc. The latter symptoms are most commonly due to genitally focused anxiety and that's by far the best bet for your own symptoms. The intermittent nature of your symptom also supports a psychological origin over an infectious one.
So all is well. Don't get tested for anything, don't take any more treatment, and feel free to resume or continue unprotected sex with any regular partner(s) you may have. As you gain confidence that nothing important is wrong, I expect any remaining symptoms to fade away.
Best wishes-- HHH, MD
after thoughts: hypothetically speaking would zinthromax cure NGU Im in 250mg (2 pills first day , than 1 pill for four more days).
Is it correct that if the discharge is clear generally that is a normal secretion, milky white or pus means infection.
I have read some posts that confuse me on this site , it makes it sound like the symptoms are very vague for NGU. Sorry to be a bother I just dont want to harm my wife. I have learned a good lesson. Thank you for your input.
Final question would NGU cause intermittent symptoms , coming and going or would they be more constant.
I have already stated the symptoms of NGU and I already implied they would be constant. Trust me on this: my comments above will not mislead you. Re-read my reply above carefully. Without an abnormal discharge, you can be sure you don't have it.
Beyond that, I'm not going to help you speculate about an infection you could not have caught from the exposures described. My advice is to not worry further about what the symptoms of NGU might be and I would urge you to stop searching online about it. Like many or most anxious persons searching the web, it seems you are being drawn to information that you have trouble putting into contextand that inflames your anxieties, and missing the reassuring bits.
Final Questions,
I'm sorry to bother you and I promise this is it for questions. One question you didnt answer I had strep throat so I had to take a standard z pack both myself and g/f which was 500 mg day 1 followed by 250 mg for the next four days. Would this eradicate NGU if I had it .
If I had discharge would I know because I have also read thats its scant. I do have a lot of dribbling upon urination, with an occasional uncomfortable feeling.
Thank you in advance for your information all the best .
Azithromycin is the drug of choice for NGU. If somehow you had NGU (which I repeat was impossible from the exposure described) it would have been eradicated by the Z pak.
Like the symptoms you described initially, the ones you mention now also are typical for genitally focused anxiety-- and definitely not NGU.
This thread is over. Accept the reassurance I have tried to give or not, I don't care -- but this isn't a debate and I will have nothing more to say. Suck it up and move on.
