Questioning Chlamidia / Gonorreah

39 yo gay male.

3 month sex history - 3 partners

6/10 - I received brief oral and was briefly rimmed.  Both less than 2 min.  Showered both immediately before and after.
6/25 & 7/10 - I received a male massage and was fingered and got a hand job.  No oral sex. 2 different guys.

I have been experiencing a groin pull for about 4-6 weeks and it was only aggravated by certain movements (squats, lunges, etc.)  July 8, I tried to squat but the pain was much worse.  After, I stretched but it caused more pain, so I stopped.  I haven't exercised since but the pain has is worse.  This past weekend, the pain was really bad - almost like I tore something and it hurt to bend forward at the hip, sit down, stand up etc.  The pain intensified and is bothering my pubic bone and very low ab area - all on one side (R) and hurts when I sleep!  Mon I went to the MD as I thought it was due to exercise.  He took my history, did manual testing, and I got an XRay & MRI.  No hernia, masses, or abnormalities.  I did experience A LOT of pain when he pressed on the inguinal crease and also the lymph node (OUCH (R) side only).  Now we are on to blood tests and he mentioned chlamidia and gonorreah.  I will get the results next week.  Of course since hearing this info, I have been researching.  Although I didn't have pain prior, now I am concerned I have a slight tingling in the tip of my penis.  Also, I urinate a lot but I also drink a lot of water.  Although my pain is almost always there (groin and pubic bone), movement makes it MUCH worse.  Also, if I push in on my pubic bone or to the side of it, the pain increases and lingers sometimes shooting deep into my pelvis and even my penis (I think).

Other info - I have been on Doxy 100mg 2x for 30 days 06/12 - 07/11 and started back up 07/15

Should I be worried about STD's?  Can I have been infected while on Doxy?  Was the brief oral the only encounter that could have caused this?

Your further description makes me feel more storngly that this problem in not an STI but, instead, some sort of soft tissue problem.

If your symptoms were due to an STI despite the doxy, then I would expect your test to be negative as well.

As indicated above, STI is not a likely explanation for your discomfort.  EWH

Thank you for your response - my apologies if it was difficult to follow.

I don't know if the lymph node is swollen, I just know when he palpated that area I jumped with pain and asked "what was that?" as it was quite painful.  He said it seemed as though I had a lot of inflammation in and around the inguinal canal and mentioned my lymph node(s).

I was / am on Doxy for acne.  I did not self-medicate.

The MD was doing multiple blood tests as well as a urine test.  My apologies for the confusion.  (blood tests included: CBC with diff, Sed Rat, CRP, & comp panel)

Honestly, I didn't think this was STI related but just would like to find out as it is painful and not getting better.  Even as I sit here and lean forward to type the pain in the right groin, as well as on or behind the pubic bone, intensifies and doesn't feel "good".

Thank you again for your time.  I look forward to your response and am open to any other thoughts you might have.

One other quick question - if I did get an STI -would it even show up on a urine test and will the doxy take care of it?  Not that I am looking to have sex anytime soon but just wanted to know.

Welcome to the Forum.  Your post is a bit hard to follow.  You may need to clarify things but here are some initial comments:

1.  The risk for STD from receipt of oral sex, being rimmed, or receiving masturbation is quite low, perhaps zero and is an unlikely source of your right sided discomfort, particularly if have been on doxycycline for the past month.
2.  To develop these symptoms while on doxycycline makes STD very, very unlikely.
3.  I worry about your right sided tenderness.  Do you know if it was due to a tender lymph node or merely pressure in the area?  Is the lymph node swollen?
4,  Frequent urination is NOT a sign of STI.
5. Why are you on the doxycycline anyway?
6.  If the doctor was going to test for gonorrhea and chlamydia, he/she should have done a swab or urine test, not a blood test. Are you sure what you were tested for?
7.  What did the doctor say to you?  This sounds more like a muscular soft tissue injury than an STI.

I suspect once I hear back from you I will have further comments.  EWH
