Gonorrhea of the throat rarely causes sore throat/pharyngitis, and chlamydia generally doesn't infect the throat at all. Penicillin V is not a good drug for either of those infections, but it most likely doesn't matter, because your partner's pharyngitis probably is unrelated to your urethritis.
Presumably you are taking an antibiotic for your urethritis, yes? If you have symptomatic urethritis, you need treatment regardless of your gonorrhea and chlamydia test results. Your partner needs treatment with the same drug before you have sex with her again.
I don't understnad why it should take 2 weeks to get the test result.

A related discussion,
How long for antibiotic to work was started.
thank you for the reply.
i was given a dose of zithromax at the clinic i attended, and was told that my samples were being sent to the lab, and results would be back in about 2 weeks (i have an appointment to re attend in 2 weeks time)
so even if my results are negative for gon/chlamydia, does may partner still need to attend the clinic to take the zithromax?
The need to treat partners of men with nonchlamydial NGU is uncertain. No research has shown that it protects the health of the partner or prevents recurrent infection. However, it is almost universal standard practice, and I recommend your partner be treated regardless your test results.
Were you seen in a GUM clinic or a general practioner? My understanding is that GPs' STD knowledge in UK is highly variable and often poor (of course there are exceptions). If in doubt about his/her expertise, consider going to one of the mostly excellent GUM clinics that exist in all large and most mid-size cities.
