When you say gonorrhea is rare in terms of receiving via oral sex performed on you by a female, how rare are we talking? 1 in 10? 1 in 1000? 1 in 100000? And even more rare to not show symptoms if you were unlucky enough to become infected through oral sex?
Why in the world would I write it (at least a hundred times in the past 3 years!) if I weren't firm about it?
So should we assume you are firm on the statement? Thanks doctor.
I don't either, but let's not get into discussion here. Grace, you have my email address if there is something in that quote that surprises you.
I do not understand the last comment by Grace. Could you please expand?
"Oral sex is safe sex, with low risk of ny STD. You cannot get chlamydia at all, gonorrhea is rare (and always causes symptoms, so you would know if you had it), and herpes is uncommon."
You are trying to give me a heart attack aren't you?
grace
That's the number for medicaltestingcenter.com I'm not sure how qualified their folks answering the phones are unfortunately.

web page but I did find it through google. The # is 1-800-682-3047. Thanks again.
I have no idea what "herpes hotline" you are referring to. When I google "herpes hotline", the first page of responses doesn't seem to have any site that recommends IgM testing.
My general practitioner that I went to was pretty clueless on STDs, as was I before this event. He prescribed the antibiotics.
I then called the Herpes Hotline 800#, who performed the IgG and IgM testing after 6 days. What is with them? Just wanting to make $$$$? They then told me not to worry about it b/c tests were negative. Good grief, you would think the hotline that supposedly specializes in this would know.
I went to the urologist for a physical look b/c I was concerned regarding some bumps (I dont know if I would even call them that) that I was like 99% positive were normal but wanted her to make sure.
I will wait the max 3 weeks just to be sure :) and if no symptoms assume no HSV-1 genital. If nothing else, you have alleviated alot of my fear. 2 drs. and a herpes hotline and now you all telling me Im ok, maybe I should heed that advice. I am overly worrisome though. Thanks again for you advice and this service.
Stopping after the opening lines: Oral sex is safe sex, with low risk of ny STD. You cannot get chlamydia at all, gonorrhea is rare (and always causes symptoms, so you would know if you had it), and herpes is uncommon. It was a mistake for you to be treated and you didn't need STD testing at all and certainly didn't need treatment. But what's done is done. On to the rest of your question.
IgM antibody testing for HSV doesn't work. Read the thread immediately before yours. In any case, 2 days is too soon for HSV antibody to show up; it takes several weeks, often 3-4 months. Physical exam of asymptomatic people is useless in telling whether or not a person has herpes. You don't say why you even went to the urologist after the initial evaluation; there was no need (as s/he probably told you).
To your direct questions:
1) Zero or close to it, especially if your partner didn't have a visible cold sore, and in the absence of symptoms. Symptoms of new HSV infections usually appear in 2-5 days, but sometimes as long as 3 weeks.
2) Chlamydia and gonorrhea were not concerns before the antibiotics. If it is possible to reduce the chance to less than zero, the antibiotics did that.
3) Forget HSV-1.
4) Hepatitis Bis not known to be transmitted by oral sex and hepatitis C isn't sexually transmitted at all.
Bottom line: Big league overreaction to an essentially no risk event.
