Stressed out! / k

About 5 weeks ago I had unprotected sexual contact with a 20 year old caucasian female aquaintance. I only instereted once, and only for 5-10 seconds. The rest of the time she was rubbing her gentials on my shaft and using her hand to achieve orgasm. I don't know if at some point during this rubbing I recieved an abrasion or cut.

I tested positive for clahmidyia a week or so after the fact, and began treatment 3 weeks ago *7 day treatment, but lost 4 pills (final two doses.) Symptoms dissappeared for awhile but since I've had a little discharge. I also believe I infected my eyes through oral contact (vaginal fluids got in them) and they have been itchy dry and misscolored (red, maybe with hint of orange). While I was on the meds I experienced slight anal leakage which made my rectum very itchy. This perssisted for about 5 days.

I asked my aquantance if she'd been tested for stds and HIV, and she said she'd been tested recently and is 100% clean. So naturally I'm worried about HIV since I believe she was lying and I contracted claymidia from her.

3 days ago I developed
canker sores behind a couple molars
fever
loss of apatite / stomach has been gurgling a lot (lots of discomfort) / upper and lower abdominal pain.
and my hands and feet have been very clammy
Seldom Diarraia

I should also mention for the past month I've been extremely anxious about HIV, and it seemed as I waited for symptoms to occur, they did. I'm over seas traveling or I would have seen my primary healthcare physician. I have 10 more days left.
What is wrong with me!
I've never been so anxious for so long in my life.
I read somthing about clymidial pneumonia?
I'm praying its not HIV.
hepatitis?
(sigh)

This forum is intended for STD assessment only, not for advice about HIV.  However, there isn't anything in your story that makes HIV seem likely.  Your symptoms don't suggest it, not even close.  And few heterosexual women in industrialized countries have HIV, especially if they are not commercial sex workers.  (In other words, your statement "naturally I'm worried about HIV" really isn't justified.)  But since you're worried, have an HIV test.  Five weeks is plenty of time for almost all infected persons to have a positive test result if they are infected, and in 10 days it will be even more reliable, virtually 100%.  You can be sure of a negative result.

To the other issues:  Given the brief contact you describe, you might have already had chlamydia.  Not many people would catch it during a single 5-10 second exposure.  And your partner's negative STD tests also suggest you didn't catch it from her.  You might have been carrying chlamydia for weeks or months, from some other exposure.

Taking antichlamydial treatment for 5-6 days is just as good as the full 7 days. You can be confident you were cured.

As for the genital lesion, herpes is the most common overall cause of genital sores.  Once you're back in 'civilization' and see your own provider, you probably should have a blood test for HSV-2.  You also need a syphilis blood test.

You virtually give your own answer about your symptoms:  everything you describe, except the penile lesion, sounds like the physical manifestations of anxiety and stress, nothing more.

Finally, the kind of chlamydia that causes pneumonia is an entirely different bug than sexually transmitted chlamydia.  And it's a mild form of pneumonia anyway, generally not worse than a bad cold.  Forget it.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Oh, I should also add my stomach latent stomach episodes last about half the day and dissappear around night time allowing me to eat solids again. There is also alot of pain if I press right 2 inches below my sternum. I believe this is where the stomach aches and pains are originating. Forgive my OCD, I just want you to know all my symptoms so I can some anxiety to rest. Thanks so much Dr. I'll leave it at that.

I had a small red dot on my penis that was turning into a donut looking sore; which was my initial reason for going to the doctor *when a clymidia wine was conducted. The sore got larger (only one) but then started to continually try to heal. just looks like a slightly red scar in the shape of a circle now. I should also mention my scrotum has been very tough and itchy from time to time. I think thats everything. Did I mention my chronic ongoing anxiety?
