HPV Risk From Handjob

Over the past several months I have received 3 handjobs from strippers in VIP areas. I understand that a handjob alone is not a viable route of transmission for most STDs.

My question is that prior to being masturbated by a stripper, if she happened to have fingered herself / touched her vagina / buttocks within a few minutes of her making contact and stroking my penis , would this put me at any risk for contracting HPV?

The reason I ask is that I am in a committed relationship with a girl who lost her virginity to me ; I feel extremely guilty for even the possibility of exposing her to HPV.

To summarize , what % chance do I have to contracting HPV from genital- hand-genital contact ?

New exposure, and entirely new questions -- you'll have to start a new thread.  But before you spend the posting fee, I suggest you spend some time searching the forum for similar questions.  You should be able to learn what you need.  Also note that MedHelp permits a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months on each of the professionally moderated forums; if you post this one, you won't be able to ask any more before next December.  So use your allowance wisely -- another reason to search for existing answers.

Doc,

had another encounter with a stripper in the VIP.

I rubbed her clitoris with my hands (thumb on left) and penetrated her vagina with my index(right).

Shortly (within 2-5 minutes) of this initial action, I received a ******** (brief under 2 minutes) from her, resulting in ejaculation.

During and after ejaculation I had held my penis while cleaning up/debriefing

Am I at any significant risk for HPV or any other STD? Do I need to get tested?  (Also was not sure if Stripper touched/fingered herself, but the previous post indicated that it would not be a risk)

1. Any additional risk from this latest exposure?
2. Do I ned testing
3. Can I resume normal sexual activities with my significant other?

"...chances are minutely small that HPV was transmitted?"  Correct.

"could any future abnormal Pap smear be linked to a previous sexual episode that I had prior to this current relationship?"  Yes.  This would be far more likely than an HPV infection from the hand job events you have described.

Thank You for the prompt reply, Dr.

Just to wrap everything up (I apologize in advance for the follow up Question) :

It would have had to have been an extremely extradorindary circumstance for me to have contraced HPV in the manner i previously described? Meaning, chances are minutely small that HPV was transmitted?

The reason I ask is that in the few years my GF and I have been dating she has had a Pap smear that was  normal- In the extremely unlikely event that i contracted HPV from this event, could any future abnormal Pap smear be linked to a previous sexual episode that I had prior to this current relationship (I had been sexually active with 3 other women prior to this relationship) ?

Welcome to the forum.  Thanks for your question.  It is one of many (several every week) about STD risk from non-intercourse sexual exposures like fingering and hand-genital contact.  Just a few days ago I wrote a blog-like reply intended to cover questions like yours.  Take a look:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/2173021

HPV conceivably is a rare exception, i.e. maybe the rare instance of hand-genital transmission.  But very rarely, if at all.  Anyway, presumably you have been sexually active in the past with other partners (unlike your current partner).  Therefore, you have been infected with genital HPV, probably more than once -- and could even now be carrying the virus.  There is no significantly increased chance of it based on the hand-job exposure that occurred recently.  Most important, if and when HPV ever shows up in your partner (e.g., an abnormal pap smear), you can be sure it had nothing to do with this particular event, and there will be no reason for your partner to assume you have been unfaithful.

For those reasons, you shouldn't be at all worred about this event. You should not be tested for any STD (and there's no approved test for HPV in males anyway) and should continue your normal sexual practices with your regular partner.

I hope these comments are helpful.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD
