Help Please.

I did the stupidity of having sex with a prostitute. She seemed clean, that goes only so far. I used condom, it lasted barely for 2 mins, she gave me ******** with condom, and vaginal intercourse with condom. I am now freaked out. It was a stupid thing to do in the first place, I got desperate. I really regret it and hope this 2 mins doesn't turn my life in the down direction. No kissing. She rubbed my chest a few times.

To add to it, the next day I got allergic reaction. I am on allergy medicine now. I had frequent urination but the doctor say it is due to the medicine - diphenhydramine. Please help me.

- Is there a chance for HIV ?
- Is there a chance I caught STD especially herpes ?
- What should I do next ? I am trying to get an appointment to get tested.
- Is there any drug to start taking straight away ?
- Is my primary physician the best person to talk to ?

Thanks !

Welcome to the STD forum.

Stop worrying.  You could not have caught an STD by condom-protected sex, whether vagina, anal, or oral.  Having allergies makes no difference in risk.  There is no risk that you caught HIV, herpes, or any other STD.  You do not need testing and you do not need treatment of any kind.  If you remain nervous, feel free to visit your primary care doctor for STD testing -- but you truly don't need it.  (If something is positive, you caught it somewhere else).

Best wishes--  HHH, MD

First calm down....You used a condom and that should prevent you catching most STD's period.  Is there a chance...yes but VERY small and unlikely given your limited protected sex..especially if you had no sores, abrasions etc prior to condom being used.  The fact that you did not kiss also is good. I am no expert, but well read and wanted to reply prior to the experts remarks so you could at least calm down.  I would wait for any symptoms , if they ever appear, before going to the Dr. or clinic as it is way too early to test or evaluate anything without symptoms.  Even blood test take time for any indications of infection.  Alas, there is no morning after drug that I am aware of..Take some time and read similar posts and the responses made.
