Help! Prostatitis/Chlamydia strange treatment in China..

Hello,

I'm a 22 year old male, I went to the hospital in Canada for treatment for a UTI, which I think was Chlamydia. The doctor gave me a 600mg dose of Doxycycline and a 7 day prescription of Ofloxacin, which seemed to work wonderfully and cured my symptoms.

Two weeks later, when I was back in China the infection came back. I went to a Chinese hospital (apparently a big mistake), and there were high levels of white blood cells in my urine (16-20), and after some tests they found that my epididymus and prostate were inflamed, as well as having the original uti. I did not have any pain in my testicles or fever or anything though. My only symptoms were a small bit of white liquid discharge from my penis the first time I peed in the morning, and slight slight pain the first pee of the day.

For treatment they gave me intravenous antibiotics as well as......antibiotics injected into my bladder through a catheter, the most painful experience in my life.

The next day I went back and there were no more white blood cells in my urine, but now there were red blood cells. To treat this they stick a tube up my buttocks (to my prostate area I'm guessing?), and shine a infrared lamp thing on my bladder area.

This treatment is all costing my a rediculous amount of money. Every day of treatment is $300+, and I'm a poor student running out of money.

So for my questions: What the heck are they doing? Is it really necessary? Can I stop going, just get some oral Doxycycline and be done with it?

I am very worried. Time is of the essence and I very much appreciate your help. Any insight at all, even from laypeople or whatever would be great.

What are you doing?  I too was diagnosed with prostatitis about a year ago.  It's not an easy disease to get rid of, but the amount of treatment you're getting everyday seems ridiculous.  I would get a 2nd opinion.
