Herpes questions.

I'm a male 20 years old .My last sexual encounter was on October 2007, protected vaginal sex.
now in the last few weeks I've noticed some strange things. Ever since the third week or so in December, I have gotten four red, bums, they have been located below my hip on my left side. they have not been all at ONE time, I got one then it healed left a brownish mark, then I got another, then it healed, left another brownish mark, now I have one bigger one and one smaller one. They are redish  raised bumps. They two bumps right now, are about an inch apart, the big one above the smaller one. The Big one seems to be an other inch away from the brownish mark from before, diagonally almost. Anyhow the ones now are closer to my butt, and the very first one is on my side. I showed the very first one to a doctor and told me it didn't look like anything, maybe an allergy, or something she said. I have been getting tiny red bumps on my chest some similar to the ones below my hips, just like a smaller version. Ohh yeah I also have gotten a few other red tiny bumps on my legs, both sides left and right, and a few on my thighs. The big one right now is redish with a bright red thing on the center, kinda looks like something would come out, but it doesn't I squeeze and nothing comes out.

My questions.

1.does Herpes do that, one lesion, heal then after that one has healed another shows up close to it? Or do they show up all at once then heal together?

2. are they in total I've gotten four at different times, one, then another, then finally two, does that sound like herpes at all.

3. Also wouldn't that be a recurrent outbreak, the place where they are showing up, I've never had anything like that on my genitals?

4. if not herpes what could it be?

Hey, its different than what I asked in the dermatology forum. I am just a worry wart, and I need to get a life, besides worrying about diseases, I know this I just can't bring myself to. The doctor I saw told me she had no idea what it could be, she said it might be, an allergy she said, so idk.

Directly to your questions:

1,2)  You describe nothing that suggest herpes.  For information about the symptoms of herpes, visit some reliable websites (and completely ignore what people post on the net about their own atypical symtpoms). Some good sites are www.ashastd.org, www.metrokc.gov/health/apu/std (where I wrote much of the information myself), and www.westoverheights.com.  You will see nothing that resembles what you describe.

3)  Recurrent genital herpes reappears each time in more or less the same spot (within an inch or so), and always on one side of the body's midline or the othe.  You describe nothing like thatr.  Also, HSV lesions appear, progress, improve, and get better over 10-14 days.  Anything more prolonged cannot be herpes.

4) Sorry, I haven't a clue what it might be.  Even if thought I might know from your description, this forum doesn't generally speculate about non STD causes of symptoms.

I can't tell if you are asking about the same things that you asked Dr. Rockoff about on the dermatology forum 2 weeks ago.  If so, it is long past time to stop trying to figure it out by online description and go see a health care provider.

Good luck-- HHH, MD

Look up Keratosis Pilaris....that's what it could be.  It tends to come out in the dry weather..........can't pop them - - just raised red inflamations that go away on their own within a few days.    The most common areas are:  arms, legs, buttock and chest.....

Good luck!
