Risk of HIV/STD

Dear Doctor

I very recently and regettably visited a sex worker and I want to know if I have exposed myself to any risks from the following activities:

1. licking her nipples?

2. me masturbating her with my fingers - there was a substantial amount of vaginal fluid as I was doing this?

3. she was also touching her own vagina, and with the same hands, masturbated me when I was not wearing a condom (i.e. I am pretty sure her vaginal fluids would have made contact with my penis)?

Other than the above, we did not engage in any other sexual acts, but after about 24 hrs I experienced a sore throat and developed symptons typical of a mild cold.  can you pls confirm if I have any risk from HIV/other STDs and if I need to get tested?

4. Also, around 5 years ago, I had 2 instances of unprotected oral sex - do I need to worry about this/get tested?  Is it likely that I may have contracted something?  I had a test for chalmydia about 1 year ago and it was clear.

Thanks for yr help

Welcome to the forum.

Questions 1-3:  The exposures you describe carry no risk for any STD.  If a bare penis (no condom) is not inserted into another person's vagina, rectum, or mouth, no STDs are transmissible.

Question 4:  It is exceedingly unlikely you acquired anything by oral sex that would persist 5 years.  For sure chlamydia and gonorrhea cannot do that, and if you had no penile sores/blisters in the few weeks following the events, you can be very confident you did not catch herpes or syphilis.  And HPV/warts are not transmitted by oral sex.

I hope this helps.  I notice you posted the same question on the international forum.  We (and they) recommend against asking the same question on both forums.  Our opinions and advice are virtually never different; you can expect their advice to be more or less identical to mine.  It's too late now, but perhaps other users will save their excess posting fees.

Regards--  HHH, MD
