Basic questions

Dear dr,
I had a few sexual relations about 10 yrs ago. I was tested afterwards and all clear. About a yr ago I received oral sex from a csw. I was tested for gon/chlam three weeks after eh incident. I have researched your prior threads and understand the only thing I could have possibly contracted that I have not been tested for is hpv and syphillis and these are unlikely. My questions are 1) if hpv was contracted and a year later there are no warts am I considered hpv free? 2) can a man get cancer from hpv without warts and from recieving oral only?3) if a man recieves oral sex and contracts syhpilis  would there certainly be a canker? I read in an earlier post there might not be a canker.
  Thank you for your help.

Your doctor would notice it on the basis of a rectal examination

You are clearly haveing trouble moving on.  Our space and time for follow-ups is limited,  This thread will need to end. Take care.   EWH

Guess I am just unaware of how rare it is. How does anal cancer from hpv present itself?

There are many things that might be casuing the bump that you have noticed.,  For me to comment on prossible diagnoses based on an internet exchange is not in your best interest, nor is it appropriate. Your risk for HPV reated miniscule anal cancer is miniscule.

I'm perplexed as to whyso seem so worried about the rare consequences of HPV related to an encounter that occurred years ago.

Thank you doctor. I apologize for dragging thus out. If I need to post it's as another question I will gladly do so. I have a little bump near my anus but not on it. It is about a thumbs width away where there is hair growing. Could this be from hpv? I'm not sure how long I've had it. I read in earlier threads that warts can arise on the anus without anal sex. Is the same true for anal cancer caused by hpv? Once again I apologize but you are the only consistent and reliable source I can find regarding hpv.

Development of penile cancer (a VERY rare occurrence) can take a decade or more to develop and would present as a penile lesion.  it is curable if present.  your risk of developing penile cancer however is miniscule.

Syphilis can cause a variety of problems but sometimes is not apparent until it causes them. Your risk for syphilis is tiny and if you happen to have ever donated blood, your blood was tested for syphilis and you can be sure that you do not have it.  If not, and you feel you need the reassurance, suyphilis blood tests are easily done and highly relial=ble.  EWH

Very helpful. Thank you. If I hD contracted hpv in my wilder days(10years ago) what is the timeline to watch out for cancer and would it only be on the penis since I have never had anal sex or touching. Last question. I recently had a comprehensive physical including extensive blood work. It checked all vital organs and results were perfect. If I had a bad strain of hpv or syphilis for many years would it have shown damage to any organs?

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for searching our site for prior posts. From this you will know that there are few STIs transmitted as the result of receipt of oral sex.

Going directly to your questions:
1) if hpv was contracted and a year later there are no warts am I considered hpv free?

Men like women can have HPV without visible lesions.  That said, HPV from receipt of oral sex appears to be uncommon.  Further, there are no recommended tests for HPV in men.  If you have not developed visible warts now, a year later, I would not worry further.

2) can a man get cancer from hpv without warts and from recieving oral only?

Cancer of the penis can be due to HPV however when it occurs it develops slowly, starting as a visble growth/lesion.  If you develop a lesions that persists for more than a few weeks, I would have a dermatologist take a look. Otherwise I would not worry.

3) if a man recieves oral sex and contracts syhpilis  would there certainly be a canker?
Yes, if you acquired syphilis from receipt of oral sex you would have a chancre at the site of contact.

I hope these comments are helpful. In the absence of current symptoms, I would urge you not to worry about possible STIs of any sort from receipt of oral sex nearly a year ago.  EWH
