I have lost so much weight

hello docs

I have been recently worried about an std exposure. I received oral sex from a csw. The exposure was condom protected from beg to end. However I do remember that I did continue to receive the oral sex even after ejaculating. Did this compromise my protection? This lasted for about 20 secs...

more importantly, I have lost a lot of weight during this time. This was unintentional and I lost about 30 lbs total. As a healthy 33 yr old man this has me worried a great deal.

I have tested negative for hiv. Do you think I could have gotten gonorreha and that is what caaused my weight loss? Do gono or chlamydia manifest themselves in such a generalized way? Or should I just assume my sexual exposure has nothing do to with my weight loss?...looking for answers

Thank you doctor,

I have visited a doctor and they have run many tests on my however we could not find anything. I was thinking about considering this as a cause for my weight loss.

My thinking was I got a Urethritis infection and that lead to my weight loss? So it is your opinion that even if I did acquire an infection it would not manifest itself in such a weight loss? I do not remember any symptoms at the time.

Welcome to the Forum.  Your weight loss is not due to HIV or any other STD.  The exposure you are concerned about was condom protected and therefore safe sex.  That the sex continued even after you ejaculated does not change this.  Further, there are no STDs which would explain the kind of weight loss you describe.  Anxiety can do this, as can other systemic diseases.  My advice would be to seek evaluation by a qualified health care provider such as an internist.  When you do however, I would not worry about HIV or other  STDs.  Take care.  EWH
