Interesting topic, and worth a comment. What is an STD?
Some doctors indeed are idiots. But I wouldn't call one an idiot on account of what yours might have been said about your apparent staph infection.
The definition of STD is not that an infection is ever transmitted by sex, or that infection involves the genital tract. It is whether an infection is any more common in people who do or don't have sexual exposures to it. Staph, strep, yeast, influenza, colds, gastrointestinal viruses, tuberculosis, and a hundred other infections are more common in sex partners or bed partners than in more casual contacts. But if you take sex out of the picture, such infections are no more common they they otherwise would be. Genital yeast infections are similar. If your partner had developed a yeast infection of his penis at the same time as your earlier infection, it wouldn't be called an STD.
Staph rarely causes disease in the genital tract, and a positive culture doesn't prove it was the cause whatever problem you had. If your symptoms were simply the same sort of genital itching, irritation, and/or discharge previously caused by yeast, I am skeptical staph had anything to do with it. But there are exeptions to everything, and it may be appropriate that you were treated for staph to be on the safe side.
But this situation doesn't make this an STD, only an infection you and your partner are sharing, maybe by genital contact but perhaps instead by shring towels, bathroom, toilet, kissing, and all the other intimate and non-intimate exposures you have had with one another.
Make sense?
I'm here with a practical and personal experience on the subject matter. I was away from my wife for just three weeks, on a business trip. And for sure, I didn't cheat. And when I returned, made love to my wife, I experienced a light yellow/milk color kind of discharge from my Penis within five days. I went for Urethra smear ans urine culture, immediately. I also sent my wife for a swab and urine culture same day. My urethra result came positive with "moderate growth of Staph Aureus, while that of my Urine culture yielded no growth." And as usual, some Antibiotic drugs have been listed for me. But on my wife's side, her "Swab and Urine culture yielded no growth." Though her's was done in another Lab center.
And I had, exactly, this same case with my ex fiance four years ago, which made me to reject her, before marrying my present wife. So doctor, why have been getting this staph aureus only when I made love to a woman, hence Staph aureus is acclaimed not to be an STD?
OMG this is exactly same case as mine and we need answer to that please don't ignore as it really crazy please am loosing it with my marriage
If you have a question please start youe own thread
