Hello,
I've had several molluscum contagiosum bumps on/near my genital/butt area for the past 3-4 months. My gyno confirmed it and has been removing them every 2-3 weeks since I first went in. I finally feel that they are all gone and this whole molluscum nightmare has come to an end...or is close to its end. However, before I engage in sexual activity and begin to wear tight pants etc. again, I want to be ABSOLUTELY sure that it's all gone (no bumps left), so I'm going to see my gyno (hopefully) one last time to check for molluscum. (I know their incubation period is a week or two so I don't want to have sex and have more bumps just show up later, risking the spread to my boyfriend or other parts of my body.) For when I see my gyno, I want to be hair-free so that my gyno will be able to clearly see everything without hair follicles covering up anything. However, if there is a bump or two that I can't see because of my pubic hair as of now, I'm afraid that shaving or waxing would spread it and thus prolong the molluscum. I'm pretty sure I don't see any bumps but I don't trust myself since I can't clearly see the whole area because I'm not shaved at the moment.
What do you think is safer and less likely to spread the molluscum (if there are any hidden bumps)? Shaving or a full wax?
Your response is very appreciated. Thank you.
