Mysterious hot tub itch.

There is now way this can be an STD as I have been separated for several month and have not slept with anyone, but after using a private hot tub for a week or so I developed a bad case of "jock itch."  However, it is different in that it itches everywhere (penis, scrotum, as well as the joint area of you legs where "jock itch" normally occurs).  There is no visible rash or redness, it is much stronger than jock itch (very, very itchy.)  It has not responded at all to either jock itch or yeast infection medicines.  There are two complications, one; I took a round of antibiotics about 1-2 weeks prior, 2; I do fish research so I can spend up to 30 hrs a week in waders (i.e. you are wet and clammy.)  Both these would led me to guess a yeast infection but medicine for this has had 0 effect.  What else could it possibly be?? (no I am not still using the hot tub)

This could have absolutely nothing to do with the hot tub, and everything to do with your work environment and antibiotics.  Both can cause yeast and jock itch.

There has been some resistance to over the counter meds, so you should see your doctor for a diagnosis and perhaps a prescription cream.

Antibiotics by themselves can cause fungal infections all over your body.. especially from what you describe of your work in a moist environment.

That being said, the infections possible from a hot tub are also bacterial and not necessarily fungal.

If you found no relief from antifungal medications, then you need to try an antibiotic. The CDC lists Pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacteria) as a main cause of hot tub skin infections, so the doctor may want to make sure and prescribe an antibiotic that is useful against that bacteria.
