Just one final question. I have had no symptons of anything in 13 days, do you recommend HIV testing from such a brief exposure? I have read your comments to people who have condom failures and it seems they had more exposure than my 4 thrusts.
I just wanted to thank you again for this service and advice. The donation was a very small price to pay for such expert advice.
You should talk to a Priest or someone about all of this since the guilt is so strong. Like the good Doctor said, NO STD SHOWS UP IN A DAY so relax.. I haven't seen this Doctor proven wrong yet and if you read the billion letters on this forum, you will see what I mean.
Thank you for responding. Sorry that I sounded so desperate, I know people have worse worries than I do. I made a mistake and "if I commit the crime I should be ready to do the time". I really am a good guy that made a mistake. I am a PROUD fundraiser for Make-A-Wish, helped to develop a place for orphans in Iraq (abandoned or parents killed), arrange for scholarships for high school children and I am involved in 4 other charity organizations including a pediatric trauma center, all while having a regular job. I am just very disappointed and worried about this "lapse in judgement". I am not proud of my choice, I just needed some honest advice.
To find my partner from October 23 would be very difficult. I just need some advice on should I be worried or move on from this. Is no symptons a good thing? I know good advice when I see it and the positive response to your forum is a positive indicator of your experience.
Settle down. Nobody wants to get an STD, but it's not the end of the world. "I want tpese questions. Distant online advice is always less reliable than that of a provider directly involved in a patient's care.
I never heard of an AVO test, but if your urine had increased white blood cells, it might or might not indicate an infection; which you might or might not have caught during the sexual exposure you describe. But if so, it wasn't the cause of your symptoms, because no STD can cause symptoms in less than 2 days or so. If you took cipro before being tested for STDs, that was very unsmart; it's a good bet you'll never know for sure what is causing your symptoms or the WBC in urine. Levofloxacin (Levaquin) will likely cure whatever was going on, including the common STDs that might cause such symptoms (chlamydia, nongonococcal urethritis [NGU], or gonorrhea). You should advise your October 23 partner that you might have exposed her to an STD (or possibly caught one from her). And if you had sex with your wife after your extramarital event, your wife needs to be tested as well to protect her health.
The risk of HIV in this situation is low, but you should continue to follow your doc's advice about testing.
And stop searching the web for symptoms. I have no patients with "I can't stop". That's ridiculous; just do it.

STD's don't show up a day later...
I also use no drugs and I do not engage in anything with men.
