No symptoms after 4 weeks...

...I had what would be considered a very low risk or no risk encounter (quick manual stimulation), but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and anxious person.  I'm wondering if after 4 weeks with no symptoms I can consider myself most likely free from disease.  Of course, I realize some people are asymptomatic, and HPV may take many months to develop.  But generally, after 1 month and no symptoms, can one consider oneself safe?  Thanks for all you do on this website -- it's one of the few honest and informative websites about STDs.  All the best.

Thanks and hopefully you're right.  I just cannot get this stupid episode with a risky person behind me.  I even saw a dermatologist/STD specialist, who said I had nothing wrong with me.  I know it's probably guilt and I should seek psychological help, but I cannot stop checking to make sure there's no new problem/growth/bump down there.    And the Internet, with all its contradictory assessments, certainly is not my friend.  Just want to know at what point I can consider I don't have any STDs.
