I don't know where you read that oral contact with nipples can transmit STDs or who said it, but that simply isn't true. (There was a thread on this forum a couple of weeks ago, in which a person expressed fear that blood from his nipples might be due to STD. I reassured him it was not.
You had just about as safe sex as possible, aside from masturbation or phone sex. The only infection risk of significance is a common cold or other respiratory infection, if one of you happened to be infected. The level of anxiety you describe indeed is inappropriate; I agree you should speak with your doctor about it.
Good luck-- HHH, MD
for what it's worth, I think you are referencing my post earlier in the week on 2/6. You should listen to the doctor and relax. My worry was with oral contact (sucking/licking) the nipple during an episode where no other sexual contact was involved...and in my case, I was freaked out because a day or so later my nipple bled after showering. The entire concept of "abrasions" and "microscopic tears" drove me crazy...I was assured by the good doctor that there was no risk here for STDs and that testing was not necessary. (I think you misinterpreted the post if it was mine) Also..for your info...before writing to the good doc, I checked with every hotline imaginable...DHS, state hotline, and they all told me I should not worry....neither should you in my opinion. (the only exception was the CDC which there has already been enough comments on..they don't like to reference specific risk situations which scarede me more) In my case, I wasted numerous hours of anxiety in this area...and, began to imagine symptons that miraculously went away after I started to relax. (I thought my chest was burning..it went away after I put this whole thing in perspective)
So, good luck to you....hopefully, the doc's words will give you peace of mind (like they did me) and I hope you can get beyond your anxiety.
Thanks Dr. HHH and MKS06.
