I am a 22 year old male

Is a positive test result done by a herpeselect test read out 2.24  for HSV type 1 require me to tell all future sex partners that I have oral herpes???

Is this something I have to think about for the rest of my life regarding all sexual relationships???

Will I have to tell every girl I  have unprotected sex with , vaginal or oral, for the rest of my life that I have oral herpes???

Before I got this readout I felt perfectly fine and now I feel like I have an STD and that I can't have normal sexual relations with anyone unless I tell them I have oral herpes.  I've never had anything I know of that resembles herpes sores anywhere.

Oral herpes is not considered a std. It's incredibly common and not many of us make it to the old folks home without it.  By the time we are 40  - 60% of our peers have hsv1 orally.

It's totally up to you how you want to deal with talking about this with your partners. Some folks don't ever mention. Some discuss it even before the first kiss. Others do something in between.  I myself am an inbetweener - I don't talk about it for kissing but I do bring it up when I am having my whole std talk with a potential partner.

It's definitely worthwhile asking future partners to get tested for herpes to know their status. If they are also hsv1+ then it's not an issue. If they are negative - discuss whether you both think barrier protection for oral sex is worthwhile or not.  Of course if they are hsv2+ then your hsv1 is also not an issue.
