Herpes risk - lap dance

I am having major anxiety over an incident.  On 12/1/12 I went to a strip club and received a lap dance.  For about 3-6 minutes (maybe more) my penis was exposed through the zipper of my jeans.  The stripper grinded on my bare penis until I ejaculated.  The stripper never took her g-string off.  My penis may have touched her g-string/genital  area but I am not sure (intoxicated).  I believe mainly her butt/back of thigh was touching my bare penis.  There was no vaginal/anal penetration.

My concern is that I may be at risk for herpes.  I constantly check my penis looking for something but as of today (17 days post incident) I have not seen any blisters/lesions.  I thought there was redness on my shaft but it may have been from me examining it.

Any advice will be appreciated

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.  It's one of those in which the title itself gives all the information required for an accurate reply:  it is not possible to catch herpes (or any other STD) from a lap dance, i.e. when there is no direct genital or oral contact with your genital area.

Now I have read both your question and your threads on the herpes community and professional forums.  I agree with their replies.  In theory, HSV can be spread by genital-genital skin contact without penetration, but it's rare.  You're a better judge than I can be of whether there was any actual contact between the stripper's genitals and your penis. but even if there was, the chance she a) has herpes, b) had active virus present at the time, and c) transmitted it to you is exceedingly low.  And with no symptoms by 17 days, it's even less likely, since most new herpes causes obvious symptoms within 3-10 days.

So my advice is to move on without worry.  You don't need testing, and if you have a regular partner, you can safely continue unprotected sex without putting that person at risk.

Best wishes-- HHH, MD
