STD risks

Hi,

I engaged the service of a CSW 20 weeks back. All I did was rub my penis (with condom) on her breast and touched her breast and tummy. We did not engage in any form of sex, not even kissing. The whole session lasted less than 5 mins. I am getting paranoid on whether I will get any of the STDs since I have the habit of biting my nails and my fingers do have some minor skin cuts. I had a HIV test done at 5, 13 and 20 weeks all negative so i guess i am cleared. Herpes done at 6, 10, 13 weeks all negative too so i guess thats cleared. However i am not too sure for gonorrhea and chlamydia, as i am not sure if i provide a first catch sample when i did my urine test at 5 weeks post exposure. i think i urinated abit before collecting the urine. The result for gonorrhea and chlamydia are both negative but i am not sure how accurate they are. I did another urine first catch sample test at 20 weeks and is now waiting for my results however i am getting worried everyday.
1) Does my exposure puts me at any risk of gonorrhea and chlamydia?
2) During this period i took clarithromycin, cephalexin and lysozyme chloride for my sore throat. Does these antibiotics affect my test result?
3) If the test comes out negative, does that mean that i have never been exposed at all to gonorrhea and chlamydia, since the antibiotics i took have are not the recommended antibiotics to clear the bacteria infection?

I really love my gf and really regretted my actions. Your input would really put me at ease while i wait for my test results. Thank You.

Hi Dr Edward,

Reading your comments put me much at ease. I guess the guilt is just too much. I guess reading too much information about the fishy smell being related to STDs just increase my anxiety. I can now wait with confidence that my result will be negative since it is a no risk event. I will also see a doctor to find out the real cause if my penis still continue to have that dull aching. Thank You.

I think you are probably drwoning in your guilt and guilt-related anxiety.  Breif answers to your follow-up questions:

1.  No change n my answer.

2.  There is virtually no risk of gonorrhea or chlamydial transmission through hand to genital contact, even though it is TYPICAL for genital secretions to be transmerred in this way.

3.  The ache you are expereincing may be a consequence of your anxiety and focus on possible symptoms.  It is premature to worry about CPPS

4.  No idea.  This is not a sign of STD however.

Hi Dr Edward,

Thanks for the quick reply. I just need to clarify a few more things.
1) Because of my 5th weeks negative test, i continued to have oral sex with my gf and i don't wish to pass on the disease (if any) to her, hence i asked about whether the antibiotics will affect my test result.

2) What are the chances of genital-hand(her)-hand(mine)-genital contact. I am not sure if she touched her genital before she even touched my hand. Throughout the session she did not touched my genital, only i touched my genital while putting on the condom. Not sure if that could be a possible way of transmission. I have been reading online that the only way of transmission for gonorrhea and chlamydia is only through sex and since i did not engage in any sexual activities that would put me in the safe zone?

3) These 3 days i am not too sure if its due to my anxiety and me concentrating too much on my penis that i feel occasional dull aching. Could it be a result of CPPS (Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome). Its more of a mental thing? So far there is no pain when i urinate and no discharge observed over the past 20 weeks.

4) 3 days back i noticed a strong fishy smell coming from my penis. But after giving it a good wash, the smell have just become a faint smell only noticeable when i clean my penis with a tissue and smell the tissue. My urine though do not have that fishy smell at all. What could be a possible cause?

These will be my last 4 questions. I am now more at ease after seeing your previous answer that my exposure is a no risk event. One thing i can be sure is that it will be the last time i do such a thing to put myself in such guilt and anxiety. Thank You for taking your personal time to answer the questions. Greatly appreciated.

My goodness , you’re really are worrying far too much and testing far beyond when it is necessary.  The encounter you describe is a no risk event for acquisition of any STD.  Further you have been tested, repeatedly.  There is just no reason for you to worry.

1) Does my exposure puts me at any risk of gonorrhea and chlamydia?
No.  the timing of urination does not make a meaningful difference.  No reason to worry.

2) During this period i took clarithromycin, cephalexin and lysozyme chloride for my sore throat. Does these antibiotics affect my test result?
These antibiotics might delay or moderately hamper the sensitivity of tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia (if you had been exposed) but not the other STDs.  Since your exposure put you at no risk for the infections, there is no reason to worry and no reason for further testing.

3) If the test comes out negative, does that mean that i have never been exposed at all to gonorrhea and chlamydia, since the antibiotics i took have are not the recommended antibiotics to clear the bacteria infection?
See above- there was no risk to begin with.  Your negative test will be confirmation of this fact.  To worry about "what if I was the first person to get gonorrhea this way" is silly.

Please, please believe you tests and move forward.  It's time.  EWH
