Freaking out over Herpes

June 26 I gave someone (I never met before) a massage followed by some grinding with no oral or anal contact about.
July 6 (12 days later) late that night I came home and noticed a single bump (Welt looking thing)  that was pretty much skin color (maybe reddish but hard to tell since I tan nude) on the head of my penis right before the shaft. This was my only sexual contact within that time period.
I put various oils (Tea Tree and Vitamin E) as well as Zit Creams and Calomine Lotion on it for the next few days to try to get rid of it and after about 3 days, it went down on its own with no pain or discharge. The only thing that remained was some shiny pink skin and at the edge of the pink skin over the next week formed a circle with that looked like a white head that was in the skin that appeared.  I tried to see if I could feel this white head looking thing but barlely I could. I let it sit for about 2.5 WEEKS and I picked it out and some white matter came out. There was also one other white pimple looking spot I poked off  on the right side of the head right before the shaft. This actually hurt when I poked that one off since it was right at the edge of the head near the normal papulate bumps around the head. Later that night I started developing a discharge from my penis that was clear and pretty much only came out after I peed as well as some groinal pain. I also developed a pricking sensation in the area where I picked the second white pimple looking thing that would occassionlly sting from time to time. Looking at the time line, what do you make of this? The stinging stayed with me from this date to a few weeks after and then went away. A few weeks back (early sept) I go the pricking sensation back with no visible sores and it has gone away again. What do you make of all of this?

I have nothing to add.  Since you cannot have acquired herpes or anything else, your symptoms don't matter and it is stupid for you to be spending time looking on the web for symptoms that cannot possibly apply to you.

This thread is over.

Doc, I have to post this and get your take on this; I was going through a website (herpes-coldsores.com) and I read hundreds of posts of people who have herpes who during an outbreak have lots of pain, headaches, just a rash instead of the typical sores, etc. I want to understand when you say none of this except for the very first infection. I agree that prodrome produces sensations prior to an outbreak but after the outbreak, isn't the herpes still in the nerves producing some pain and producing pain after the infection on its way back to the base of the spine? I have to understand this please Doctor. I trust what you are saying but 2+2 isn't equalling 4 here with people on that other website...

None of that stuff, except sometimes for the very first infection.

Herpes ONLY causes periodic sores that take 1-2 weeks to heal, that then may recur--but never more often than every 4-6 week

You are saying that the ONLY thing that happens in an outbreak are the lesions? For some reason, I thought a lot of people get fatigue, some muscle aches and pains in general when going through an Outbreak.

If the lesion isn't a superficial blister that turns into an opens sore or scab, it isn't herpes, regardless of stinging or similar symptoms.

Again, see the last line of my response above.  This thread is over.

I was talking about when lesions are present, not in between outbreaks. Does one with lesions get this stinging sensation as a symptom of the virus being present?

Not an STD, and that's as far as I go on this forum.

Herpes ONLY causes periodic sores that take 1-2 weeks to heal, that then may recur--but never more often than every 4-6 weeks.  Between those outbreaks, there never are any symptoms at all.  It does not cause anything of the sort you describe.

See the last line in my reply above.  I won't have any other comments or advice.

Do you have any idea what would cause this stinging sensation? I have looked everywhere on the website and have not gotten a clear answer. I know herpes prodrome can cause tingling but is tingling the same as a stinging? Does one with herpes feel stinging in his penis occassionally when the virus is present or is it only a prodrome that goes away before the lesions appear? What sorts of sensations does one have when herpes lesions are present? Please expand on this stinging because I think without it, I wouldn't be focusing on it as much.  Thanks so much Doctor H!!!!

Stopping after the first sentence:  No STD can be transmitted by "grinding with no oral or anal contact" (assuming no vaginal contact either).  It doesn't matter what you say in the rest of your question:  you did not get infected during that event.

I don't know the cause of your penile lesions.  Probably not an STD, but I cannot rule out a wart, molluscum contagiosum, or herpes--although it doesn't really sound like any of those.  Whatever it is, you did not catch it during the massage event.  It was a mistake to try to treat yourself without professional diagnosis.

As for the discharge, completely clear discharge only after urinating suggests normal prostate fluid.  But I cannot rule out the possibility of urethritis, like NGU or chlamydia.  But that too could not have been acquired during the massage event.  The "stinging"/"pricking" symptoms don't sound like anything important and not suggestive of STD.

Stop trying to figure this out on your own.  See a health care provider.
