Hello, I am a male and really scared that I might have herpes. So here is the story, it is kind of long. I am really stressed out about all of this.
2 weeks ago on sat night, I drank and had first time protected intercourse with a friend, and unprotected oral sex, about 3 days later on Tues, I woke up with a red circle (thing) on my bottom lip, that did not hurt, I then went to the health clinic had a nurse look at it and said it was not herpes and gave me blistex, the mark cleared up fine by Thurs night.
Then on Fri. night I had a tingling during a movie on my lip, I came home and saw a tiny small pinpoint sized scab, which I touched then started to bleed I quickly stopped the bleeding and then put more blistex on, it seemed ok. Then the next couple of days on sat and sun, my lip was really swollen, my uvula the thing in the back of my throat had a mark on it and the back of my throat is somewhat reddish with what looks like very tiny small bumps in the back roof of my mouth that are not red but very small, also on sat-sun my tongue now has tiny red dots on the front of the tongue going along the sides as well. There is no pain associated with anything going on in my mouth. (I have never had these symptoms before).
So on Mon (9 days after sat night) I went to the doctors who looked at my mouth and got a culture for herpes, the doctor said it did not look like herpes; I also got a blood test for white blood cell count, HIV, and syphilis. He also gave me a prescription for acyclovir (just in case), which I took up till Fri., 3 times a day. So about two days later the results came back negative for everything including the herpes culture, but I had a low white blood cell count for unknown reasons.
Then on Fri this week (which I also stopped taking the acyclovir), I went to see another doctor who, also could not tell what it was, and said it did not look like herpes, but could be, but most likely not. But he still did not give me an answer to what it was, but I did have further blood tests for the white blood cell count. He also had another doctor look at my mouth who also could not give me an answer.
Now it is Sunday and the symptoms in my mouth have not really changed much at all, and I do not have any pain. My lips get really chapped and peal skin, so I always have to put stuff on my lips. Some other symptoms which I think I was experiencing, is at first I think I had flu like chills for a day early on, and I had a weird sensation in the bottom of my spine for a couple days which both are gone now. And I have had a weird sensation like tingling down in my groin area, very rarely, but trying to go to sleep I sometimes feel weird down there, hard to explain?
But this Sunday morning I noticed this barely red colored mark which seems like a small bump but not painful and about half a centimeter in diameter in-between the base of my penis and my scrotum on the right side, but seems to be more on the scrotum and you can see it if you look directly down. Hair is covering the area and it is slightly raised with no spots, scabbing, or pain. This is the first sign of anything in my penis region. (I have also noticed a weird smell in my groin area in the past week that is new to me and just smells weird; I have never smelled it before, but it seems to not smell like it as much anymore).
On Monday over two weeks after the fact and none of my symptoms have changed much, no pain, but no real sign of improvement either. Then on Tues. same thing going on, except the spot on my genitals is now pretty much gone, it is harder to see. Now it is Wednesday and the mark on my genitals is gone, the smell is still there, just a little bit though. But everything else in my mouth and tongue is the same. (Also my immuno-globins came back normal).
As you can tell I am really scared and do not know what to do (I have already been to the doctors twice now), I can't get a blood test for herpes yet, because it needs to be like 3 months after the infection. I have already gotten a culture test, but maybe I need another one or that PCR test? (I do have health insurance). I do not know if it is from allergies, medication, bacteria, another std, anxiety, fungal infection, or herpes, I have no idea. Could you help, or give any kind of input? I mean I think it sounds like a cold sore, which I have never had before, but the doctors say otherwise, and do not know what it is.
I have talked to my friend, who has said she has never had any known STD
