did i get an std

hi docs. i had unprotected oral sex with another guy which i am one too. after i had oral sex with him i get these weird symptoms.  2 weeks after i feel pain in gorin very itchy. i go get looked at and they say nothing is wrong do an ig test and it came back negative along with all other stds. I was told that the ig test was done to soon and to come back later. 3 weeks after i still am itchy so i go to a dermatologist who looks me over and says that i have yeast infection and have to pin point pustule on my forskin. he gives me econazole nitrate and says use 2 times on gorin area. i use it for a week missed a few doses and i still have itchy feeling sometimes so i refill and use it again for another week. week 4 i get feeling a feeling in my butthole and cheeks pain.  the butthole hurts and felt buring on my buttcheeks but didn't see anything on them. i go to the local std clinic and the nurse checks my butthole and says it needs to be cleaned better because there is still stool and that is causing pain. one week after i try to clean better but not all the way different and its all better! But my gorin still itches and those pin point pustules are still there.  is this an std?  is it herpes? if I test next at 8 weeks after i had oral sex will ig prove to acceptable? i don't have a lot of money and can't afford to go back to dermatologist.

My answer remains the same.  This will be your last answer.  There is still very little evidence that you ahve HSV.  The only evidence is the one Dr. who said that it might be HSV. Other Drs and myself, and your tests indicate that this was not HSV.  As I said before, I relaly do not think you have HSV and do not think you need further testing.

No further answers.  EWH

I take it sense you response to 2 other questions and the non response to mine will mean I am not going to get a response. Forgive my follow ups as they were only intended to ensure that the reoccurance of items did not present a change in your opinion.

Also doctor I did have a dull testicluar pain the last few days. No sure if this will mean much difference. Can I have my doctor post questions here too like I did?  Are they allowed to post questions or is it just patients? I want him to learn more so I will gladly pay the money for him to ask questions to learn more.

Hi Dr. Hook! I hope you are well. I hope you don't get mad at me for posting a follow up.
The stuff from my last time posting did go away. Yesterday I got the back pain again and it still kind of here today not much I feel like my right leg at the top part is having some pain. The butt being itchy is back again and sometimes I get these random pains in the butt again. I have a pain also like a pulled muscle type dull pain in my right side as well and it feels like below my stomach is full or something.I know you will get mad because you think the test was wrong but when I saw my doctor about a sore in my mouth he said its herpes we need to test you. He used the HerpeSelect IgG test below is the information from the test. I did this test a little while ago.
A red pen note says: You're 9 week results are here.
HSV1/2 IGG, HERPESSELCT TYPE SPECIFIC AB
Test Name:
HSV 1 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC AB RESULT <0.90 UNITS: INDEX FACILITY: IG.
HSV 2 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC AB RESULT <0.90 UNITS: INDEX FACILITY: IG
I guess my big questions are this at this point. Do I still not sound like a herpes case.  My thought is the return of symptoms again. The pain in my side stomach and back pain. I think this test was run early from what I read at Terri Warrens WebMD she says 16 weeks. I have never had HSV before at all. Do you again feel the need to no further test and just stop freaking worring? I will understand you yelling at me. Thank you for re-visiting my thread. I wish there was a way I could show how thankful I am for your help. I promise not to keep bugging you anymore. There is not a lot of doctors around here and they all are behind on the Herpes stuff. I can only get accurate answers I am sure from you as an expert. Thank you.

This added information only serves to make your problem sound less like any STD and does nothing to change my opinion.

1.  No, this sounds nothing like herpes.
2.  No, you do not need another test
3.  I think another test is a waste of time.  Thus this question cannot be anwered. Your symptoms do not sound at all like HSV.  EWH

EWH thanks for the response.  I wanted to do one last follow up and then lets let this thread go to sleep.  I rather get all the facts to make sure your thoughts will not change any and then I am going to go out for a few drinks tonight.

I noticed I forgot the following:

During the pain in my rectum. I wasn't just the butt hole but around the inside cheeks too.  it wasn't constant coming and going but would last for a little while.  I also had back pain that was again off and on but mostly on going.  my scortum did tingle some during this time.  The problem with the nurse looking was it was 3 or 4 days when this started happening. I also had running stool almost diarriea.  This has all since cleared up alone with the pain in the back.  The back pain i am afraid I might be able to explain as the seats in the college are i just started are a little smaller and I have to try and fit in with some part of my butt hanging off and not sittign very comfortable. Like I said though doc its cleared i don't feel the pain in the lower back anymore.

1. Does this sound like herpes were responsible for the butt pain and the nurse couldn't see it because I was dumb and wait to long?
2. Do you still feel strongly that there is no need for a second hsv test?
3. If I do get a second HSV test at 8 weeks do you feel this given i have neither hsv type I should believe it and move along with life as a freed from HSV person?

Thanks again EWH.  Much appreciated.  I will see no further to follow up after this.

2.  Yeast infections typically clear with therapy.  Please re-read my comment about looking too closely.
3.  No you should believe your tests for NGU and gonorrhea.

EWH thanks for posting back to my question.  I am glad to be on your forum but hope not to stay no offense.  i read on other posts that you say it is low risk for std's.

may i ask the following questions for further advice.

1. nothing sounded like an std in my symtoms is this correct?
2. is it normal for a yeast infection that i am treating with that cream to last this long?
3. you list ngu and gonorrhea forgive me if i sound dumb but would my 2 week urine test show that i have it or was that to soon like the ig test?
4. i noticed on a herpes site that someone said that if you have neither hsv-1 or hsv-2 you will seroconvert sooner then those with a version of herpes. is this true?

i don't regret the encounter i do  not like what i did meaning it wasn't for me. thanks for your help and expert advice. i enjoy that i know if i come here i can get an expert like you and the hhh md.

Welcome to the Forum.  Oral sex is low risk for acquisition of STDs,  Of the bacterial STDs only gonorrhea and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) are transmitted through oral sex; chlamydia is not and without an obvious sore or lesion on your partner’s mouth, the chances of syphilis and herpes is likewise tiny.   If you had gotten gonorrhea or NGU you would have most likely developed symptoms of urethritis (penile infection).  Even if your partner had an STD (any STD and it is likely he did not), most exposures do not lead to infection.

I see little reason for you to seek further blood tests for HSV.  The chance that you have it without the appearance of lesions is very, very low.

You have now been seen by at least three different clinicians with relevant expertise, all of whom have examined you and told you that you do not have and STD, you have been tested for STDs and those results have been negative, and you have been offered alternate explanations for some of your symptoms.  In addition, I should point out that sometimes after an exposure that, in retrospect, one wishes they had not had, persons tend to examine themselves and be far more attuned to genital sensations than in periods when they are not concerned.  This in turn leads to noticing what turn out to be normal sensations or longstanding skin irregularities that might have been not noticed or ignored at other times.  I suspect this is a contributor to your situation.  There is very little reason from the information you describe to worry that you might have gotten HSV from the exposure you describe.

Hope this helps.  EWH
