Syphilis RPR negative Syphilis EIA(IgM+IgG) positive

Hi,

I recently had a series of STD tests run on myself and new girlfriend. My results were all negative.

She had negative result from the Syphilis RPR test and a positive on the Syphilis EIA.

Unfortunately, the EIA results lump the reaction to IgM and IgG antibodies.

Any advice on interpreting the results and what the next step should be... repeat EIA test to rule out a false positive, other tests, treatment?

Many thanks,

Aminmoscow

I was wanting a clearing up of a conern for the results of my RPR results.

Here are my numbers: RPR, Quant 1:4 H NonRea<1:1 01.
Can I saftley conclude that there is no threat of passing of anything to a partner with these results?
                                             Thanks,
                                                KA

The RPR is more reliable but I suppose you would want to be safe.. if her last exposure was 8 weeks prior to taking the RPR then the RPR would be accurate. to be safe you may want her to retest. but I would have her retest with the RPR at least 8 weeks from the last exposure.
