Tingling w/no other symptoms

For as long as I can remember (at least 10 years), I've gotten this intermittent tingling in my labia area on and off.  It usually only lasts for a few days or so and comes and goes.  I've never really given it too much thought.  I have checked the area and there are never any sores, blisters, etc.

About two weeks ago it started again.  It's on and off, doesn't last too long.  Isn't exactly itchy, just tingly feeling.  I've been inspecting the area and not noticing anything unusual.  I did see a very tiny red spot on my labia, not raised, not filled with anything, not itchy, not painful.  It did seem to disappear in a few hours.  But the tingling is being persistent.  On and off every day for almost two weeks now.  Sometimes I can feel it in my thighs and buttocks area.  I did go for a blood test and am waiting for the results to see if I'm positive for HSV.

Does this sound like herpes?  I've never had blisters, most certainly never had an "initial" infection.  I'm wondering if this is just anxiety based now because I'm sort of freaking out over it.  I did have genital warts 11 years ago, and have had no outbreak since.  Not sure if that is related, but it doesn't seem to be.  Also, around the time I noticed it this time, I did just switch to a new birth control pill and I do have increased discharge which I was checked for yeast & bacteria and was negative on both.  I'm assuming the fluid change is because of the hormone change in the pill.

Do I have any reason to be overly concerned that I have herpes?
Would anything else be causing this symptom of tingling?

Look forward to your response.
Thanks!

These values are stone cold negative.  no ifs, ands or buts.  Thus you can be sure that the tingling you were concerned about is not due to HSV.  EWH

I'm assuming these are negative?  My doctor isn't in today to read the results, but I picked a copy of them up myself.

Welcome to our Forum.  I see that this is follow-on to the conversation you are having at the HSV Community site.  I agree with the information that Grace and others have provided to you.  Isolated tingling is not a typical manifestation of genital herpes in the absence of lesions or other signs of infection.   There are many causes of the sorts of sensations you describe including dry, sensitive skin, other dermatological processes, etc.  In addition, we find that when a person focuses on one part of their body or another that the increased awareness tends to lead to awareness of sensations that might be overlooked otherwise.  My suspicion is that it is unlikely that this is genital herpes.  Let's see what your lab tests show and we can discuss further at that time. In the interim, my advice is to do your best not to worry.  EWH
