Penis Buring Sensation and Worried

Hello Doctor
September 11th 2007 I recieved unprotected oral sex and had protected vaginal sex with a call girl. After 5 days of this incident I have penis burining sensation followed by mild fever.  I contacted my GP immediately and confessed to him..  He tested my urine and told there is nothing to worry about and gave me levaquin for 3 days... But this did not cure.  So i seeked help from Urologist.  After I told my urologist what had happened, he collected my urine sample and blood for STD tests (On Oct 2nd).  The results came back negative... I was relieved because I was dying of fear of HIV.  Probably the emotional stability controlled my burining sensaion for 3-4 days.  Now, since yesterday I again have high buring sensation again ... No puss no sores etc.,  In the mean time, when I spoke to my urologist, he told me you may have to check with neurologist or do a test for possible kidney stone.  My questions are:
1. Am I prone to HIV ... Do i have to take one more HIV test?  I am really dying of fear.
2. What type of STD show these symptoms.. Or have i caught STD on the first place?
3. I am highly worried because I had sex twice with my wife after the Sep 11th incident before any sypmtpms appeared.  Does she also need to be checked?  So far she has been reporting, occasionally tired and cramp once.
4. Today my fever increased and I did vommit.  Could it be a Kidney stone symptom?  Urologist told me generally for Kidney stone I may have joint pains also as symptomps.
I am also taking doxycycl antibiotic prescribed by my urologis.. but doesn't have any improvement.
Please help me in giving me the right directions to proceed.  I will highly appreciate your help.

Hello Doctor,  I will follow your advice.  I am actually scared about the uncontrolled mild fever I have been having since this irritation has started.  The fever dominates during the day time and then comes down during the evening/night time.  I am still worrid that it hasn't yet been diagonised.  My question is: Is this fever a result of infection I may have due to some cause in my urethra? Is it normal?
Thanks a lot again.

Different STDs require different times before tests become positive.  In your case, there is no point in testing at all.  Follow your providers' advice.  I won't have any further comments.

Thanks a lot for the inputs Doctor.  But will this time frame (accident on Sep11th and tested on October 2nd) be sufficient for the detection of all the STD including HIV?

Your symptoms do not suggest any STD, including HIV, and you had a sexual exposure that carried little risk for STD and essentially no risk for HIV.  Further, you have seen 2 providers who have tested you and assured you that you have no STD.

1) If your providers recommend HIV testing, fine with me.  I see no need for it based on your exposure history or your symptoms.  But if you'll sleep better knowing you have a negative HIV test result, it's fine with me if you get tested.

2) No STD is likely to cause the symptoms you describe.  Most likely they did not come from the sexual exposure you describe, and anyway you have been tested and no STD was found.

3) Unless an STD is diagnosed, there is no risk to your wife.

4) I'm not the one to take guesses at the causes of your fever, vomiting, etc, nor can I comment on the possibility of a kidney stone.  You need to discuss it with your doctors.

I don't know if you saw the advice about herpes testing from another forum user, before I deleted his comment.  If you did, disregard it.  There is no chance herpes has anything to do with your symptoms.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
