I'm not familiar with that particular test; it isn't HerpeSelect. The format of the results suggest it is an accurate type-specific test, but I just don't know for sure. Seems likely to be a test not available in the U.S.
"Intense burning skin sensation" without visible lesions doesn't sound at all like herpes.
Presumably you have discussed the results with the provider who did the test. If not, that's where to go for further information. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I just spoke to someone at the laboratory - they said it is an in-house test. I asked him how its efficacy compares to HerpeSelect, but he said he couldn't tell me as I am not a doctor. He did seem to know the comparison but because I am a patient, he won't tell me.
I can't ask my doctor to phone up because he is adamant that it is reliable (mind you, he had never heard of HerpeSelect!).
What does one have to do to get a reliable test done?! I live in London and don't know where to go.
I'm not going to compete with the doctor who ordered your test. If you were tested at a UK GUM clinic, you undoubtedly can rely on the doctor and the test result. Since your symptoms do not suggest herpes and the test is negative, it seems you can reliably conclude you don't have HSV-2. Sorry, I can't help further.
