Dear Dr, I received about 4 days ago unprotected oral from a CSW. We had light protected vaginal sex...which only half the shaft was inserted and I was extremely careful not to allow any other skin to touch. I am paranoid about this encounter and do not want to infect my wife with any STD. Do you consider this a very low risk encounter, and how long should I abstain from sex with my wife? This was a regrettable decision and something that will never happen again. Also, I did masturbate and accidentally broke the skin on my penis, so I'm paranoid now that if I did develop a lesion I would not know the difference, although the minor abrasion does not hurt. From reading the online posts, I have gathered I should not worry about this transgression and move on, but I am really just needing reassurance. Are there any reasons I should be overly worried or paranoid? I am especially worried about the risk of Herpes. Obviously any STD would be bad, but I do know that HIV transmission by unprotected oral (I am the insertive partner) is virtually nil. Thank so much in advance for your kindness, consideration, and the service you provide.
