Unsolved

I had unprotected insertive vaginal sex with this girl and a couple days later I had symptoms including - frequent need to pass urine but little would come out and it was very dark and had a strong odor, the rim of my penis (circumsised) burned in a particular spot, had a few bumps pop up Also I had some sort of small lesion below the head of my penis which healed quickly and I've had one discharge of runny milky looking fluid pass after urination, also glandular pain and slight swelling in right side of groin and pain in the leg down to my calf and some pain at the opening of my ureathra during sex. Also now noticing small bumps on head of penis that are a whitish color quite small but alot of them and the rim of my penis has a dark purple pigmentation in a certain spot which comes and goes and the head of my penis is very textured and is more red than skin colored but there's not much I any irritation it just looks 100 percent different than it did before the incedent. So I slept with this person on may 5th 2010 and I have been tested for HIV, hep a,b,c,e , hsv 1 2, syphilis, chlamidiya, gonorrhea at weeks 1 3 5 7 10 14 all negatives except positive monospot question 1. What tests are absolutley conclusive. 2 is it possible for these symptoms to be caused by hpv could that explain all the penile issues? 3. Could the discharge, bad smelling dark urine, and skin abnormalities be caused by an NSU infection not picked up by swabs or urine tests? 4. Can epstien barr cause any penile symptoms? 5.what tests at the 6 month post exposure point do you reccomend for a person to be cleared of STD's aside from hpv not sure if I have this or not I've been told no upon visual inspection by 2 doctors but I seem to have more tiny bumps but they aren't growing in size 5.  Is it possible to have a yeast infection on the skin of a circumsised penis could this account for skin changes like these?

Herpes doesn't explain such symptoms and your blood tests for HSV apparently were negative anyway.

We have gone as far as possible with an online forum and I can't help further.  That will end this thread.

Thank you so much doc, I will make my last appointment regaurding this next week. When you talk about urethritis this would be due to bacterial infection I assume because I have tested negative for herpes so this couldn't be herpes urethrits I ASSUME judging by your responses. And as far as I know if iwere to have hpv I would have distinct warts not just very small what if bumps.. Correct? I will request screening for this. Thank you for your patience doc!

Mononucleosis is not a likely explanation for any of this.

Did one of the doctors evaluate you for urethritis?  That would mean a careful genital exam, including "milking" the penis to look for discharge, and a swab test from the urethra to examine for elevated white blood cells.  If not yet done, it would be reasonable to do so now, either with your primary care doctor or your local health department STD clinic.  I doubt you have NGU, so most likely nothing will be found, but better safe than sorry.

Beyond that, I have no suggestions.

So the groin pain for 6 months and pain during sex at opening of ureathra which is reddish color is defanitley not STD related, could the mono cause the groin pain? Nothing adds up

Welcome to the STD forum.

You have had accurate replies on the STD, HPV and herpes community forums.  Your symptoms are not typical for any STD.  You have been grossly over-tested.  My guess is you have waste $1,500 or more on tests that you didn't need.  But the results are negative.

You describe only one symptom suggestive of any STD, and that is the single episode of white urethral discharge.  However, a single such event is unlikely to be due to NGU. Did that event occur not only after urination, but perhaps after a bowel movement? This is often a normal event in entirely healthy men; see this thread:  http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/Semen-Leakage-Question/show/684727

To your specific questions:

1) All your tests are conclusive.

2) HPV doesn't cause symptoms like you describe.

3) See above about the episode of penile discharge.  These other symptoms -- dark or strong smelling urine, skin changes -- cannot be cause by NGU or any other STD.

4) EBV does not cause any of the symptoms you mention.

5) I recommend no further tests at 6 months or any other time.

Apparently you have seen two doctors, and it seems both have found nothing abnormal.  Your symptoms don't really sound abnormal either; I think heightened anxiety is making you notice various normal sensations and skin spots.  You have no STD or any other infection from the sexual encounter last may.  It's time to just forget it and move on.

Regards--  HHH, MD
