Will my antibiotics affect a general STD test?

Hi all.

I recently had a rather bad bout of Bronchitis and as such am on a 5-day course of antibiotics (Azithromycin).

I've noticed some difficulty urinating and discharge so have made an appointment for an STD test in 10 days time.

Will the antibiotics have any noticeable effect on the outcome of such a test?

Hi Grace,

I last had sex perhaps a week before symptoms started showing, it was with a recently (less than a month) new partner. It was unprotected on more than one occasion. We are still seeing each other and I have discussed it with her and she is also seeking an STD test.

Thanks for your input,

Regards,

James.
