Are these ongoing STD symptoms or me being paranoid?

-Mid June I receieved unprotected oral sex from a random female.
-Four days later I had lots of unprotected vaginal and oral sex with my regular female partner.
-One week after receiving the oral sex outside I was experiencing some uncomfortable sensitivity around the head of my penis, achiness and some urethra pain while NOT urinating. When actually urinating it felt “normal” to me though if I focus on it I guess there is a very mild sting to it. If anything, urinating relieved the pain I was otherwise having.
-I did not detect any discharge, didn't know of milking.
-I went to my doctor’s office and met with an MD. M said it did not sound like an STI to her, MD did not look at my penis.
-MD said it could be sensitivity and pain due to lots of sex.
-MD suggested I be tested for gonorrhea and chlymdia the following Thursday (15 days post exposure) and again one week after that
-by the time of the second testing all issues had passed
-Both sets of tests consisted of peeing in a cup and came back negative.
- beginning of August. My partner gets a red itchy vagina she attributes to a yeast infection or being late taking the pill one Saturday. itching and redness passed a couple of days before her period began. No bumps, no discharge.
-We did have unprotected intercourse throughout this. During her period week my original symptoms recur.
-Am I passing an infection back and forth? Or is this the result of masturbating/sexing too much?
-Now more than a week later my symptoms are subsiding again.
-Could I have an NGU? If not, what else could it be? I've noticed some things on my penis but I do not think they're herpes or HPV, I think they've been there and I just didn't notice. Is urethral pain while NOT urinating associated with NGU/urethritis?
-If it seems possible I have some form of urethritis or other STI what would best test for this? Obviously I’d rather know I a have an infection than just get treated as if I do. Best type of doc to see?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your question.

I agree with the advice you had from your doctor:  I am confident you have no STD from the oral sex event and that neither your nor your main partner's symptoms are the result of any infection from that event.  Shy?  First. it was a low risk event:  oral sex issafe sex, with low rik for some STDs and zero risk for others.  Second, neither your nor your partner's symptomsare typical for any STD.  Third is the negative results on your STD lab tests.  Fourth, the symptoms of vaginal yeast infections are easy to recognize accurately by affected women, especially if she has had prior yeast infections and the symptoms are similar -- and as you probably know, yeast infection isn't an STD.  Finally, there is another likely explanation for tiy symptoms:  they are very typical for genitally focused anxiety, leading you to over-interpret minor sensations that you otherwise wouldn't notice or would ignore.

At this time, I see no need for you to see another doctor or for additional lab tests of any kind.  If the symptoms continue, return to your own physician, then follow her advice if she recommends referral for a second opinion.

I hope this hashelped.  Best wishes --  HHH, MD
