I can't answer.  Many women with UTI symptoms don't have UTI that can be detected by standard testing.  Some of them have STDs, such as chlamydia or gonorrhea, but not all; the explanation sometimes just isn't clear.  If you are sexually active, and especially if you have changed partners recently or have had sex with someone who is likely to have had other partners recently, you should have been tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia.  However, it likely is too late now; on cipro, you can expect those tests to be negative, even if you had one of those infections.  Did you tell your sexual history to your health care provider?  If not, s/he might not have known to test for them.

Follow up with your own provider.  Good luck--  HHH, MD

Were you tested for STDs?  Do you have a lot of anxeity about it?  Sometimes anxiety can cause mild symptoms if test for STDs are negative.
