You are not at risk for anything. Believe your tests, they are very accurate. Your starting point was that the chance of STD was near zero, you were then tested and they were negative and if there had been a bacterial STD present (gonorrhea of chlamydia, it would have been totally eradicated. Trich is not present in the throat so there is no risk of this, Similarly, there was virtually no risk of HIV from your exposure. You may have prostatitis (I will not second guess your physician) and cipro is appropriate therapy for this.
My guess, your are anxious about these exposure and this is contributing to your perception of symptoms. There is also no reason for being concerned aobut giving your wife something from the exposures you describe. EWH
No evidence that you have trich. Time for you to move on. EWH
Also, latest urine test I had at hospital came back normal, and they said they check white blood cells. Would that be able to tell if no Trich?
They didn't tell me if the swab test was for white blood cells, is that normal for chlamydia and gonorrhea? Also, it may not have been a good test, because I didn't really have a discharge.
I'm still worried, my wife has been having a white/gray discharge that does smell like fish.
If your swab test taken earlier was also looked at for white blood cells, then the chances that this is trich are vanishingly low. Men to not give trich to other men (never been reported) or by oral sex so the only way you could have gotten trich was from your encounter with the CSW in which you used a condom. condoms are proven to help protect against trich. Putting all of this together with your tests and earlier resutls, I find it really hard to believe this could be trich. Finally, you have another explanation for the fluid-prostatitis. My suggestions would be to work through this with your urologist. You may want to be a swab test for white blood cells as well but I suspect that will be negative. EWH
Okay, doc, I'm sorry to bother you again, but I just noticed something this morning. When I woke up this morning, at about 9 a.m., I noticed a small drop of clear fluid on my penis. I hadn't urinated for at least an hour. It didn't smell, was clear. Could it have been urine from more than an hour earlier? I might have had this once before a couple of weeks ago, but I pee so often it's hard to tell...but this morning it was obviously a small clear drop of something....I'm so worried that I got trich, because that's a way to contract HIV and easily pass it on...I can't figure out how I may have gotten it, though when I did have one of the encounters, one man may have rubbed his penis on mine, and he had a discharge....
Please help...I'll start another thread if you want me to....
Although years ago physicians thought that prostatitis was an STD, today we know that this is rarely, if ever the case. Since you did not have urethritis (penile infection) you would not have STD prostatitis either. EWH
Dr-
Thank you so much for your answer, I really appreciate it. I guess I'm really confused because this happened right after these encounters, I definitely have something going on with my prostate, and I'm kinda too young for this to come on.
One question, then -- could i have gotten the prostatitis from the encounters, just not through an STD? Some other bacteria? Is that possible?
