gonorrhea or chlamydia using condom

Hi,

On november 17 I had  vaginal sex with a young promiscuous woman using a condom all the time. The condom did not break. The following week I had vaginal sex with my girfriend, briefly unprotected (20 segs) and then using condom all the time. Some days later we had oral unprotected sex and I came in her mouth. A few days later she told me she was having symptoms very similar to vaginitis o yeast infection which she tends to have recurrently after we have sex.  About three days ago (15 days after my girlfriend told me about her symptoms) I started having ardor in my penis and I am having frequent discharges from the tip of my penis, they are not yellowish but watery and constant (penis looks wet all the time). I have a bit of trouble beginning to pee (it feels as if the penis is clogged but then the urine manages to unclogg it). I am also having some lower back ache and constant pain between scrotum and rectum. Question: is it likely that I have std such as gonorrhea or chlamydia? If not, what other causes could there be? What are the odds of getting one of these stds by having protected sex?

thanks for your help.

Welcome to the Forum.  I'll be pleased to comment.  The chances that this is an STD related to protected sex are virtually zero and should not concern you.  On the other hand, both your symptoms and the fact that you received unprotected oral sex from your GF suggest that you may have gotten non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU) from that exposure.  This can occur following oral sex when the bacteria that are normally present in your GF's mouth get introduced into the urethra and would explain all of the symptoms that you describe.  NGU following oral sex should be treated the same as NGU from vaginal sex, i.e. with either a single 1.0 gram dose of azithromycin or with doxycycline, 100 mg by mouth, twice daily for the next 7 days.  In either case, even though this is most probably due to normal bacterial from your GF's mouth, it is still recommended that she be treated at the same time.  Treatment of your GF may increase her risk for a yeast infection as well.

I hope this comment is helpful. EWH

1.  These are not classic symptoms of prostatitis.

2.  No- please re-read my original comment.  You can get NGU when the NORMAL  bacteria from your GF's mouth get into your urethra.  EWH

Ok, last two questions: 1) is it possible that it is prostaitis instead of NGU? That seems to be the reasoning of the urologist that inspected me... 2) If I got NGU does that mean that my GF got it from someone else and passed it to me? or can you get NGU without it being sexually transmitted.

thanks for the answers
