i was wanting to know if i have syphillis i have this rash under my  pelvic area. it is a rash and its realy red and hurts i went to the doctor and she said it was a fungi or something like that she gave me a cream that gets it away but it is still here

do you know what this can be ???/

please help i have only been with 3 pepole my whole life and i am only 21 so please tell me the doctor was right and i don't have a std

I am married 2 yrs now.. i have had no problems with stds EVER. I have alwasy been tested prior to marriage. the situtaion my husband has always had a itchy problem i thought he had a std but turns out he didnt. he had this itch between his legs where his leg meets his area. right at that crease.  he has had it for as long as i known him i never had it. recently id say about 1 month i started to get this itch he says it is jock itch he puts cream on it and i guess it goes away well i now have this red circle like smaller than a dime but bigger then an eraser right in the same area he itch's at. at the crease. i never ever had it i am so scared to go to the drs. the spots itch and if i put the cream the blue cream makes it stop itching he says it is from the heat and he always had it. whcih could be becasue it just started to get hot around here like 95 degrees some days. so do you think this could be that also i have some odor like by the end of the night when i am about to go to bed it smells real strong down there im not sure but i heard this could be an infection of some sort {the odor part could be an infection} please help. im embarresed please help the mad wife...

A doctor who visually inspected you would probably have more merit to his statement than Dr. HHH's attempts at matching your symptoms, history, etc., with known conditions.

I'd take the reassurance at face value, and if that's not good enough, get tested for your own peace of mind. Worst case scenario, you have something and are prescribed medication to resolve it.

I cannot compete with the diagnosis of a health care provider who actually has examined you, and certainly cannot tell what your rash might be without seeing it personally.  But fungal infections in the genital area are pretty easy to diagnose and your doctor probably is right.  But if you're concerned about syphilis, as your doctor to do a blood test for it, if not yet done; or you could visit your local health department STD clinic for a free syphilis test.  While you're at it, if you're concerned about STD in general, you should be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia; they are far more common than syphilis, and many people with only 3 sex partners still get infected.  (Every woman your age should have chlamydia and gonorrhea testing once a year, no exceptions!)
