Apology to Dr. Hook for jumping in here.  But you posted yet another new thread which duplicates these questions.  I wrote a reply before I realized it, and before I deleted that new thread. (MedHelp permits a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months on the professionally moderated forums.)

This is what I wrote before I realized the duplication.  As you will see, Dr. Hook and I are in agreement.

"Your symptoms do suggest disseminated gonococcal infection.  You need to get that idea out of your mind; it simply is not possible. Even untreated, DGI never lasts more than a few weeks.  The joints in which DGI causes arthritis usually are the hands, feet, ankles, knees, and maybe elbows, rarely the shoulder, and almost never the back.  The involved joints are red, swollen, and sore to the touch.  It does not cause joint aching for long periods of time and it does not cause the other symptoms you describe, such as "generally unwell" feelings for months on end.  Beyond DGI, no other STD causes such symptoms either.

You're going to need to continue to work with your own health care provider(s) about the cause and treatment of your symptoms.  They have nothing to do with any STD and are not caused by any sexual encounter.  Accordingly, this forum has nothing more to offer you.

Please reply using the areas at the bottom of your original post.  To do it this way will cost you and additional charge.

No, the pain of DGI would be expected to go away over time or your would get much sicker.  What would by no means be expected was for your symptoms to be relatively stable.  EWH
