std transmission - finger to anus?

Hi Dr.

What are the possibilities that you can get any std, namely hpv or herpes from receiving a massage with oil, and the masseuse massages the buttocks, scrotum and briefly inserts a finger into your anus?  Once this happened I pulled away.  I did not know if the masseuse had clean hands or if there were cuts on her finger. Or if she was doing the the same thing to someone else minutes before.  I am very concerned and washed my anus after, and have made it sore.  Please let me know if there is anything I should do now and detail my risks for any std.

Thank you
Tom

First, I would suggest that it is quite likely that the masseuse did wash their hands between clients and that any lubricant used would be more likely to kill STD microorganisms than to help them persist.

In addition, STDs are not transmitted from person to person by touching or in the course of masturbation in any meaningful frequency and should not be a concern.  While there is a theoretical concern, just as there is a theoretical concern that you will be struck by lightning today, the fact is that it is not something that you should worry about or that testing is needed for.  I would not worry.  EWH

thank you, so  just to confirm, you don't think that HPV or Herpes is a viable concern for me even though the masseuse did insert her finger into my anus?  (I believe it was baby oil was the lubricant)
