symptoms

hi, i am having symptoms of pain in the penis area every once in a while.. and just kind of an irritation sometimes when i pee.. and i think my urethral opening looks kinda swollen.  Im thinking these are symptoms of gonorrhea or chlamydia.  I had a female perform oral sex on me about a month and a half ago.  Is it possible to have symptoms this late?  I am going to get tested today.  Could this be symptoms of something else..? and is it easy to contract gonorrhea or chlamydia through oral sex? The girl was pretty suspect.. Thanks so much for your information and time

I would not worry.  This is not an acute problem and there is little risk of comlication beween now and early next week. Wait for your test results.  EWH

thanks for the advice, i had a complete std panel done today, with gonnorhe and chlamydia testing, but only from urine.  I am wondering if it is ok, to wait til monday til i get my results, before I see a doctor.  I just had the lab tests done, and I did not see a doctor yet.. I am guessing i might not get them til monday or tuesday.. i guess my question is, should i get on antibiotics, if i dont have a diagnosis yet, even though i i have some symptoms that are characterisitic of it, i might also have a low grade fever of about 99.. just curious about your advice, i wouldnt want it to manifest into something bad, if thats the case.
thanks

Welcome back to the Forum.  Thanks for the second piece of information - it is potentially important. That your most recent partner has not has other partners in quite a while does not mean that she could not have and/or transmit STD.

I have two pieces of advice/suggestions.  First, I would go and get tested for STDs, specifically for gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU (the latter test typically requires I microscopic examination a swab test from the penis).  You have had two exposure s in the past 6 weeks and STDs can be acquired and cause mild or even no symptoms.  Testing is appropriate based on your history alone.

Second, irritation on urination, even mild irritation can be a manifestation of urethritis (penile infection).  Another reason to seek testing.

If you have an STD, there is no way to know which partner you got it from.  Hoppe these comments are helpful.  EWH
