if you and your spouse both have syphilis, how long after treatment should you wait to have unprotected sex. and if you do two weeks after treatment are you at risk of reinfecting with syphilis?

I am curious about this myself.  I had syphilis and found out about it in January of 2009.  Luckly my wife did not have it. My doc gave me two shots in the *** and told me to wear a condom for sex until my numbers started going down.  The test I took last month showed my numbers were on the decrease so I hope I can start having sex with my wife without a condom again.

you can only transfer syphilis from direct contact with a syphilis sore. i would talk to your Dr, because i do not know if you would still have that sore or not, and i am not sure how long it takes for the medication to work.
